September 7, 201015 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) Greg got mad and up in arms because people were booing him when he was having the bad year. Greg cannot accept that a player can be booed, because this must mean that the boo-er is saying that they hate the player, not the performance. Hence, everyone on Soxtalk "brutalized" Konerko except for greg. Yeah I remembered he got the harsh treatment on here.

September 7, 201015 yr I was thinking that we had a chance shot at the wild card just yesterday with the Rays tough schedule coming up, but then I looked at the end of Tampa's schedule. They finish up against KC and Baltimore for their final 7, so I can us getting close, but not overtaking the WC.
September 7, 201015 yr QUOTE (The Gooch @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) I was thinking that we had a chance shot at the wild card just yesterday with the Rays tough schedule coming up, but then I looked at the end of Tampa's schedule. September 7, 201015 yr Actually, I remember many posts where people railed on PK... "he's too old... on the downward slide of his career... can't get more than B prospects for him... worst hitting 1B in MLB... dump his contract..." People who willing to ship his keister out of town to the first available taker and replace him with Nick Johnson, Lyle Overbay, and endless other alternatives. But... that is basically how most fanship works... "what have you done for me today?"... because yesterday only matters if it was bad. Edited September 7, 201015 yr by scenario
September 7, 201015 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) Both of those ballclubs are playing competitive baseball for the most part. Those type of teams always take pride in knocking teams out of the playoffs at the end of the year as well, so maybe if we make it close...
September 7, 201015 yr The Rays face Matsuzaka, Bucholz, Cecil, Romero, Marcum and Sabathia over the next 6 games. Not an easy task. I am hoping they go 2-4 over that stretch, while we go 5-1. This would put us at 3 games back when we face the Twins next Tuesday. We've picked up 4 games on the Rays during this 7 game streak...1 against the Twins. Edited September 7, 201015 yr by iamshack
September 7, 201015 yr QUOTE (scenario @ Sep 7, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) Actually, I remember many posts where people railed on PK... Anyone who has EVER booed PK or his "performance" (for what...a 50 game stretch maybe) should be taken behind the wood shed and be forced to take a Chris Sale heater off the family jewels. Konerko is a P-I-M-P.
