You need your 5th/6th reliever to be capable of getting outs and being at least competent. Ohman is honestly a perfect 5th or 6th reliever. Pena is not.

ok, thanks. i didnt have the money right on pena, i thought he got a raise to about 4 mil in the offseason through arbitration, guess it wasn't nearly that much. at least there's a precident (macD) that they're willing to eat money on a guy wasting a roster spot.

 

i'm almost ready to say put Teahen at 3B just for his bat, but Morel really has nothing left to prove in the minors.

I have no problem sending Morel down and going with some sort of Teahen/Vizquel platoon for a while just to increase Morel's confidence and get him on track. The problem I see is that I don't know who you call up. De Aza's really the only one that makes any sense, which honestly might not be a bad idea.
