nuh-uh

It's ridiculous to give up in the 1st week of May and I don't give a s*** where you are in the standings or who you're playing.

Pass that s***!

Look, who's to say 85 wins won't win the AL Central? That means they have to play at a .569 clip the rest of the way and I think they can do better than that. And I'll take my chances with our starting pitching in the playoffs.

If I'm going to watch an awful team, I at least want them to look good. Kyle Korver at SS. Jon Hamm somewhere. Ron karkovice.

Jon Hamm and Ron Karkovice. So many similarities.

A positive for me about this start is that one of the most arrogant front offices in pro sports is largely quiet. Kenny offering only hugs. If the record were reversed you know damn well he would be wondering aloud about the attendance from everywhere he could be heard. Kenny, you were a better GM when you spent $0.50 instead of $1.00. Classic case of careful what you wish for.

And somehow not a single step has been taken to address the teams woes. No player has been sent down and no one on the coaching staff has been let go. Unbelievable.

No bleepin kidding

FWIW, the ALC division winner has never had less than 86 wins.

Since 1996 the ALC division winners have averaged about 93 wins. Amazingly they've also never had more than 99 wins. The second place team has averaged about 85 wins. So at the very minimum they need to get to 86.

If they go 82 - 49 (.626 winning %) the rest of the season they'll hit 93 wins.

If they go 75 - 56 (.573 winning %) the rest of the season they'll hit 86 wins.

Have you officially given up? I know you're probably the biggest optimist on the board and it'd really say something if you truly expect them to be selling off parts by Memorial Day.

I've given up. This team needs to make changes. Staying status Quo after years of consistent slow starts is bulls***. Given who we have leading the division we still have an opportunity at winning this thing, but they are gonna have to play perfect ball and hold people accountable.

And yes, if I was running the team, I wouldn't just fire Walker. I'd fire Ozzie as well. Cooper would stay and I'm ok with Cora, etc.

Than I'd give Tom Kelly a blank check to come in and run the Sox :)

Amen.

While the Tom Kelly thing might be unrealistic. The firing our guys and holding them accountable is realistic and it should be done. I'd also ship Beckham to AAA (f*** his feelings, he can either fix his s*** there and come back up or be a bust) and get Viciedo more at bats.

I'd consider moving Morel down as well and I'd use a very odd, horrificly defensive lineup with Viciedo at 3rd and Teahen getting AB's at 2nd (which he has played a bit in the bast). But I'd use Lillibridge and Vizquel a lot as defensive replacements.

I wouldn't consider it a full-time move, rather just something to consider to spark some things up on the club. Another option would be to play Viciedo in LF and bench Pierre, but I'm not quite sure who would lead off.

This years draft is supposed to be the deepest draft in years. They are saying guys going in the 2nd and 3rd round would typically be late 1st/supplemental 1st round picks and there will be guys getting drafted into the 6th/7th round that regularly throw 95+.

Only thing that sucks is the Sox don't have a first round pick.

Have Vizquel or Rios lead off.

CHICAGO (WSCR) It’s has been a tough season so far for the Chicago White Sox and their fans. Both thought the team would have a good chance to win the division and make a deep run into the playoffs, but through 32 games Chicago is stuck in last place.

“This is the most inexplicable team in the Major Leagues right now, I really believe that,” Peter Gammons, of the MLB Network, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. “Talking to other managers and general managers in the Central Division, they’re completely perplexed. They still think the White Sox are the best team in the division.

“But the bullpen failed them early, and then they’ve gone in this stretch where they haven’t hit. I mean, .202 [batting average] for 20 games, I mean that’s really hard to fathom. I realize [Adam] Dunn was sick and so forth, and he hasn’t started to hit, but its really hard to understand with [Gordon] Beckham and [Paul] Konerko and all the guys that they have, it’s tough to figure.”

But despite all the team’s struggles, there remains a glimmer of hope that the White Sox can pull off a similar comeback to what they did last season.

“Every passing week is another week,” Gammons said. “You take it off the schedule and you go ‘OK White Sox, when is this push going to start to come?’”
