Teahen hopes to avoid DL

Could this be the trip that gets Dayan's foot in the door?

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Chicago White Sox third baseman Mark Teahen hopes he can avoid the 15-day disabled list after suffering a mild strain of his right oblique muscle.

Teahen left Wednesday's 6-4 comeback win over the Los Angeles Angels in the seventh inning and said the discomfort has persisted for a few days.

“Obviously, I don’t need to spend any time on the DL, but I don’t know," Teahen said. "We got to see how it responds. But as of right now, it feels like a minor strain and hopefully it responds well to treatment and some medicine.”

Teahen wasn't sure specifically when he first suffered the injury.

"It had been bugging me, but taking game speed hacks it really started grabbing me,” Teahen said.

Dayan Viciedo, who moved from the infield to the outfield this season, is batting .308 with five home runs and 27 RBIs at Triple-A Charlotte.

Sounds like a serious pull to me for Teahen. Can we delelegate the injury to Pierre and DL him?

Funny how we made our comeback in 2010 when Teahen went down and then we make a rare comeback on the very same night he injures himself again in 2011.

It looks like the normal Charlotte line up tonight, so I am guessing no DL trip is expected.

I thought I heard somewhere that they have until Thursday to make a decision or something.

They said over the weekend they were going to work Mark out today, and make a decision. I think if they thought the odds were good for a DL trip, someone would have already been on a plane informally.

Hawk just said Teahen is not recovering quickly and, form what he said I can't figure out why MT isn't on the DL.

I was told by someone who knows someone that Viciedo was coming up today, and I assumed it was for Teahen, but Viciedo was in Charlotte's line up tonight before it was PPD. Like was mentioned above, you would think if they were going to replace Teahen, they would have had someone in Chicago before the game today, so apparently the Tank is going to be staying in Charlotte.

It only makes sense to me.
