Nice start by Edwin and the best of all is he's only thrown 88 pitches

had to join the game late... is Jackson Fastball velocity higher than usual today?

Nothing that stands out.

Nope. The Tigers are just awful and impatient today.

Yes.

9th?

I'd go with Segio

While it was a great play, it wasn't that great. Most MLB SS should be able to make that play.

So E-Jax has his best start, do we trade while he comes off his best start?

Nope, KW is all-in, no choice but to roll the dice. His quote will be "this is exactly why we acquired Edwin Jackson, for key 2nd half games against our divisional rivals, blah, blah, blah..."

We still don't know how Peavy's going to rebound in the 2nd half. If Peavy went out and threw 3 shutouts featuring 93-96 MPH fastballs....three games in a row...then you can argue that at that point you leverage Jackson for whatever you can get.

His ERA is now exactly at 4.00 and will fall below it if he can get through the 9th.

Quiet, I was waiting until the end of the game and for Sox to win to say how bad their approach has been with runners on.

Gameday has his fastball at 99 on that last double play. Impressive.

really gameday had the DP that Martinez just grounded into at 99 mph

Have Rios bunt!

MLB.com has had Jackson at 95-97 all day long.

I've heard a few readings of 98, but DET jacked up their gun when Zumaya pitched there....and now with Verlander.

Valverde has thrown all of 4 pitches in 5 minutes.

Who's slower, him or Betancourt? Jesus of Nazareth.

Great, when we need Rios to strike out, he fouls off the ball and prevents Lillibridge from getting to 2nd on the easy steal.

HE CAN'T!

Rios even screws up a steal attempt.

Rios, at least let Frodo steal second before you ground out.

Nothing left to say about Rios.

Mistake to pitch to Beckham here....

C'mon Gordon, bases clearing double into the RCF gap.

At the risk of a re-jinx - Is Q! finally out of his dormant state and ready to carry us again for a few weeks? T'would be real nice.

If nothing else, the value of our two most-discussed trading chips has not been hurt these last couple of days.

Hopefully they throw him an offspeed pitch

Ha ha Leyland

Just need a sac fly.

Jackson's coming out to try to finish this one, regardless of runs scored here. Everyone agree?

Way to go Gordon! I expect the squeeze here

GB 3-0 :headbang
