Even on the FA market, Buehrle would not make more than Peavy.

A lefty who throws 200 IP a year, with an era of about 3.00 wouldn't get more than a guy who has been injury prone for multiple seasons now, a righty, and has an era over 5.00?

Mark has a better H/9, HR/9, and WHIP than Peavy, and is only two years older than Jake.

On what planet would Mark Buehrle make less than Jake Peavy if both were free agents?

Not what was being said or discussed.

Jake Peavy is currently making $17 million a year. Would Mark Buehrle get that on the FA Market?

It sure wasn't phrased that way.

I would love to see MB stay a White Sox until the end of his career, but the shape the team is.. I don't see the need to bring him back, as they would have to pay him more than Peavy, which right now I don't see where they are going to get the money to do that.

If you read the context yeah it was. "They'd have to pay him more than Peavy" = They'd have to pay M-56 more than $17 million next season. On the FA Market, M-56 would not wind up paid more than Peavy.

Danks was hurt this year, Floyd has that recurrent hip problem.

First time in his MLB career he was hurt (not counting being shut down rookie year cause of the innings) so your grasping for straws there. And Floyd's hip usually does that towards the end of the year. That is still 360+ innings average combined between the two.
