March 30, 201214 yr Finished "Street fighters" on the Bear collapse yesterday on the train. The most amazing thing is how everyone in that company who wanted to has moved on to bigger and better things.

March 31, 201214 yr Read Galapagos by Vonnegut, The Running Man, and High Fidelity yesterday. Enjoyed them all. I really have nothing better to do when I'm sick than read.

We read The Outsiders at the beginning of the year, but I didn't really "teach" it. The main activity I did with it was keeping a journal. The final projects for my Pre-Ap kids ranged from filming themselves recreating some of the scenes, to some really good dioramas. We also did a few things with the movie. Anticipatory stuff mostly. FWIW, my kids really enjoyed the book. I teach 99% Hispanic, 30% ELL, 75% economically disadvantaged.

April 9, 201214 yr Clash of Kings is done and on to Storm of Swords. People purely watching the show are going to be in for some real surprises this season if it follows the book as closely as season 1 did

He should've read Dirk Hayhurst's books before he wrote The Art of Fielding.

The only book I've paid full price for was Out Of My League by Dirk Hayhurst. I have 370+ books on my Kindle and I've spent maybe a grand total of $20 to fill it. There's plenty of good free stuff on Amazon.
