2012-2013 NCAA Basketball thread

Nope, they got the East and a trip to Dayton in the first round.

IU was always going to go to Dayton first and Louisville was always going to go to Lexington, but the question was which team got to play in Indy the second weekend.

Kentucky is the 5th defending National Champion to not make the NCAA Tournament since the field was expanded to 64 in 1985.

Anyone familiar with selling tickets on Stub Hub? If I list tickets there but sell them on my own, is there a penalty or fee to take them off Stub Hub or should I just raise my price so high that I know they won't sell to avoid penalties?

LOL

Don't think there's a fee but you should take them off the instant you sell them.

Southern Miss (34) has the highest RPI of any team not in the field. Southern Miss in the only eligible RPI top-50 team to not make it.

That 30 for 30 tonight looks awesome

State of Indiana- 4 teams

State of Texas- 0 teams

Best part has been the highlights of the Houston team. Drexler, wow.

It was probably the best one they've ever made

I watched the first hour and had to force myself to stop and watch the rest later. Had to get up early for work. It was fantastic. Those Jimmy V clips of his motivational speeched had me willing to run through a wall.

Fox Sports will have a news conference at 11 a.m. Wednesday to announce Butler, Xavier and Creighton as members of a revamped Big East Conference, according to an Indianapolis Star source familiar with the negotiations.

Butler president James Danko and athletic director Barry Collier will be in New York for the announcement.

A statement from the school is expected soon.

Current RPI of the new Big East:

Georgetown 10

Marquette 12

Butler 20

Creighton 25

Villanova 51

Providence 88

Xavier 90

St. John's 92

Seton Hall 129

DePaul 202

Rumored to be joining for 2014-15:

Saint Louis 16

Dayton 111

Have to post here too, just for emphasis.

Kentucky loses to Robert Morris tonight, 59-57. Top seed in the NIT had to go on the road to face the Colonials and laid an egg. This just breaks my heart!!

LET'S GET IT ON!!!

Remember: no team has won the NCAA title after losing its 1st conference tournament game. Sorry, Duke & others.

Wow, ND can't even win St. Joe county?

Would you expect Monroe County to be pulling for Indiana on a football map?

Would you expect Monroe County to be pulling for Indiana on a football map?

Probably, yes, but at least ND's basketball team makes it to the postseason most years. IU football is not quite in that same category.

I'm with Gottlieb, the rules regarding flagrant fouls are getting out of hand. A bunch of plays (going back to last week) where incidental contact to the head (several where the recipient of the hit barely flinched) results in 2 FT's and the ball, not to mention some ridiculously long delays.

As much as I cant stand Gottlieb I agree.

If after the first look its not readily apparent that it was intentional, just let it go. If you have to replay it 7 times to try and determine, it probably wasnt that excessive in the first place.
