Dice-K? He's on waivers and we need an arm.

Featured Replies

He's cheaper than Manny was, and certainly an area of need for the White Sox. He just had an excellent start.

The White Sox have 3 days to get an arm; here is one.

Erik Bedard was let go. Could be a bullpen arm.

Although he has been awful lately.

At this stage of the season it is too late for projects. No thanks on Bedard. Dice-k? Maybe.

No f***ing way, we don't need an arm that bad. Our middle relief isn't the best anyway, a Dice-K start requires at least 4 innings of bullpen help. Much rather let Santiago/Humber/Axelrod that Dice-K.

Wait, he's off the DL?

Yep...he just pitched.

If we are going that route...make an offer for Jason Vargas, an above average pitcher on a poor team. Or, for just an innings eater...Kevin Millwood. Other than that...I can't say there's much out there except for maybe a flyer on Oswalt, but that's probably not a good move considering what he's done with the Rangers.

I'm surprised Milwood hasn't been moved to a contender. He's pitched pretty well this season, despite his record.

Take bedard or dice. Bedard was a guy that kw wanted before.

I really want Buehrle back. I don't care what his contract is. He's a proven pitcher and could help out the younger pitchers on the staff.

On a related note, as Boston keeps spinning off parts, I sense almost a kind of sadness in the voice of whichever Sportscenter anchor is tasked with doing the highlights of a game that has former Sawks players, and I bask in that. It was definitely there when Youkilis came to Chicago, and yesterday was definitely Josh Beckett and whatever NL team wears blue caps v Colorado.

Maybe dice k to dice kc. He could start a couple games against kc.

Oswalt cleared waivers. Not my top choice but coop could fix him.

You'll care what his contract is in '2014-15.

okay, I'll bite: what do you think it would take to get him? Low end prospect for taking on his salary?

Do you think the Phils would put halladay on waivers. Owed $20M next year but that is it. Doesn't

Look like 2014 option would kick in.

Every player is put on waivers at some point. The question winds up being whether they are claimed. If they pass through waivers they can be traded, while if they're claimed they can be pulled back, so the only question is when you put the player on waivers.

Yeah. I meant would they put him up like right now. He might pass through. or at least get through to us.

He might already have passed through and we'd have no way of knowing.

Bedard. Nobody has picked him up. We should. He had 118 strike outs in 125 innings. Reliever, starter, both..

There is no time for projects.

Don't see him as a project. Solid numbers against lefties. Better than some of the pitchers we have now.

And as a left handed starter, he isn't going to face a lot lefties.
