GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels

Featured Replies

61 pitches through 3 for Weaver.

Looked like Konerko was swinging a soaking wet copy of the Sunday Tribune there.

1/21 now on his career against Weaver, under the dreaded 0.050 mark.

Any reason for Tuesdays game being a 1:10 start?!??

Great DP turn there by Gordon. He's continuing to get more mentions recently for the Gold Glove because of his low error total.

3-0 swinging there by Trout, as well as Pujols earlier.

Angels feeling the pressure too, with Trout's batting average falling, Trumbo slumping (well, not yesterday) and the A's leading in the Bronx still.

Ball carries a LOT better there in day games though, than night games with the marine layer and colder air.

At least Dunn PROBABLY won't finish below a .200 average, there's that, for 2013.

And his possible/potential trade value.

Absolutely brutal sky/sun to fight with today...every ball hit to the outfield's going to be an adventure, like Viciedo's fly ball to Wells in LF.

Do you think Dunn has trade value? Just watching him, one can't help but notice how overmatched he is.

I'm under the impression we would have to pay salary just for a team to take him let alone get a prospect back. We might even have to pay a few million just to get another GM to waste his time considering it.

What are your thoughts?

I will take 2 more years like this one from Dunn and won't worry much about it. 40 bombs and 100 RBIs is ok for me

Sox are the only team in MLB whose ANNOUNCER is tight and feeling the pressure. Hawk needs to retire. SOON.

It's worth considering. They could rotate Viciedo and DeAza as the DH, but that would mean finding another CFer.

Also depends on the feeling he leaves at the end of the year...if we make the playoffs or not, and how he plays there, which has never happened in his big league career.

Really Aj

AJ swinging at change-ups for outs last two times up.

Out of the zone. At least they're elevating his pitch count. If only that.

Pressing pressing pressing.

AJ was super pissed he swung at that one.

Corpseball again.

74 pitches through 4. He'll probably get through 6 and turn it over to the bullpen.

This offense is just awful right now. Still not sure why De Aza wasn't in the lineup, as he's one of the few guys who's produced this week. Viciedo also has to stop chasing those offspeed pitches off the plate early in the count and swinging at them like he has 2 strikes on him.

I almost miss Caesar, Andy the Clown and Mcgrady...the prophets of doom during weeks like this.

Don't worry, the Twins will beat Smyly tonight.

The whole team is quite clearly pressing, or trying to hit homers (except on Dunn's double, where he actually went with the pitch).

Pujols now 6/12 against Floyd. What new?

Edited by caulfield12

Bring back Greg Walker!!!

Seriously, how are we going to be able to score a run in this game without getting a homer?

Alexei making Viciedo look disciplined there.

Gee nothing predictable to see here. Let Weaver off the ropes in the first, let's see how Gavin or the bullpen can blow it in a new and inventively bedeviling and beguiling way.

92 batters in a row retired in the middle innings, as per usual when letting opposing pitchers off the hook with the bases loaded.

Floyd pitching like Jake Peavy was supposed to when we acquired him in 2009.

That's fine for fantasy baseball. He's no threat to any AL pitcher. Worst #3 hitter in baseball. High K rate doesn't work in the AL. He's the first guy I get off this team.

A one run deficit seems insurmountable for our offense right now.

Need to get Weaver out of this game as he seems to be in the groove right now.

Lucky break, could easily have been a triple there if not for the fan grabbing it.

First RISP for the Angels today.

Two outs. This is where Gavin usually has a mental lapse and gives a damaging run.

Wells 9/24 lifetime against Gavin Floyd. Does Robin Ventura know that? Pitch around Wells and go after Ianetta?

Yes, that pencils out to .375.

Who the HELL is this guy?

The Anti-Gavin from 2008?

Gavin keeping us in this game! Come on Sox, hit a home run.

He got out of it. He's lookin pretty good. Too bad he will probably make a mistake which I will blame on the inept offense.

Youk doesn't look healthy at all. It's amazing to me how pull happy he's become.

Titans/Lions game an old-fashioned barnburner.

About to be inning 3-4-5-6 without a single SOX baserunner.

I don't know if that's worse than blowing bases loaded situations with less than 2 outs....probably?
