Cubs trade for another idiot

Featured Replies

If he helps them win one game via pinch running or what not, it's totally worth it

I think this is the lineup the Cubs are shooting for:

1B: Doug Mientkiewicz

2B: Tony Womack

SS: Rey Ordonez

3B: Jeff Cirillo

LF: Terrence Long

CF: Doug Glanville

RF: Sammy Sosa

C: Mark Johnson

I don't know about Mark. I think Buffalo Grove native Josh Paul has made some tremendous strides at the plate this year.

Speaking of Mark, I haven't seen him play a single game this year. Is he injured, or not good enough for the A's?

He was in the majors earlier this year. These are his stats in AAA Sacramento. From what I remember, he calls a great game but not many teams can afford to keep his bat in the lineup.

Maybe Grudz is farther away from rejoining the team than originally thought.

Maybe Gonzalez will get hurt and they'll pick up Clayton.

Jim Hendry must of been spending long nights on the phone again...................... :lolhitting. What a horrible trade. That article is good at pointing out how capable Martinez and Grudzilanek are of playing second base. No matter how vital you think these players are, it really disrupts your clubhouse chemistry to constantly be adding players and switching positions. How can your pitcher feel confident on the bump when he doesnt know half the infielders behind him?

Hendry seems to be quick on the trigger, willing to add anybody at a moments notice. Whats even worse is nearly all these acquisitions: Womack,Lofton,Simon,Ramirez might not even be there next season.

I realize the same situation could be said about Alomar and Everett, but Kenny Williams moves were made to fill obvious gaps in our lineup. The Sox moves were seen as ligitimate, rather then a move for the sake of making one.

Getting Womack isn't as dumb as them acquiring Simon and putting Choi down in the minors.

The best part was how he was playing in Colorado.

The Cubs? Who cares? :fthecubs
