Reverse standings, draft order

Alright, time to start rooting for losses. We have 83 wins (3 games left), Milwaukee has 81 wins (3 games left), and Arizona has 80 wins (4 games left). We currently sit with the 18th pick. We would own the tigerbreaker vs. both the Brewers and the Dbacks. So best case scenario we can get down to #16 in the draft order.

Let's go Cleveland, Arizona, and Milwaukee!

White Sox Baseball: Never bad enough

The saving grace is that next years draft is supposed to be one of the weakest in memory.

Good or bad has never had an impact for the Sox most of the time. The agent has a lot to do with it.

That's what they said about 2012's draft too, but we've actually seen some early success so far.

Which ones are you referring too?

Hawkins, Barnum, DeMichele, Johnson, Grabe.

With the new rules, this is much less true than it was. The new rules really helped out the Sox, and the 2012 draft seemed to show it.

Spots 17-19 are still within range for the Sox.

17 - Milwaukee - 82 wins (2 games left) (Sox win tiebreaker)

18 - White Sox - 84 wins (2 games left)

19 - Dodgers - 85 wins (2 games left) (Sox win tiebreaker)

All we can root for now is 2 more Sox loses, and 2 more Milwaukee wins, or 1 more Dodger win.

Sox lost, and Dodgers won, so we secure the 18th spot at the very least.

Now the last thing is for Milwaukee to win tomorrow, and Chris Sale and the Sox to lose tomorrow. We'd lock in to 17th spot if that happens.

I though it's Floyd pitching. In fact, it better be Floyd pitching :)

They'd be better throwing me than either Floyd or Sale tomorrow. There's no reason to throw a guy who will either be traded or let go, and there's definitely no reason to throw a guy who you've been conservative with regards to innings all year.

1 day contract ala' Adam Greenberg.

I'm calling Kenny right now.

Let Wise pitch.

Dodgers lost. Floyd starting.

If the Brewers win and the Sox lose today, the Sox draft at 16. If not, 17 is locked in.

Hey look, a middle of the pack team.

How do you figure? I'm pretty certain we have the 18th spot right now.

Welp, Sox went and f'd it up by winning 2 of 3 meaningless games.

18th spot it is.

In any draft there is only a marginal difference between the talent available at 16 and that available at 18.

Next years draft is supposed to be pretty weak FWIW.

Tell that to Mike Trout ;)

You know what you have at 16 that you don't have at 18? 2 more options. BOOM. KNOWLEDGE BOMB.

That is very true. Logic tells us that by definition, 16 comes before 18.

last time we picked 18th...Josh Fields. Ugh.

That's what happens when you pick athletes instead of baseball players.
