KC vs Sox game thread

Featured Replies

3 of Sale's 8 losses last season were to the Royals.

5-5, mid 2 ERA career-wise against KC.

Sale getting hit hard....not really fooling anyone.

Two buggy-whipped balls that were absolutely teed off on. The fastball is getting hammered, a bit slower and too straight.

Even left-handers are getting good swings.

Before Gordon's at-bat, only one hit by a lefty batter this season in the early going.

ADA starting to look better in LF

Fathom said it earlier but the disparity on the talent on these two teams is amazing. Sox have no chance in Kauffman this year.

p.s. Sale's velocity sucks. What is going on??

Why would a game against one of the worst teams in the AL with an injured roster matter so much for the rest of the year? It's not like they have some awful pitcher going for them either.

For the first time since the 2003 season, there's light at the end of the tunnel for Royals fans.

You can just pick up on a certain vibe about a team and organization when they're starting to turn the corner.

And because beating Chris Sale still means something.

Righties continue to hit him much harder this year than last year.

probably wouldn't have got him, but still.

He definitely needs to make adjustments to how the league has adjusted to him since last year's ASB. It's the next step in his development.

A loss today would be 14 in the last 18 (4-14) in KC. 1-8 over the last 9.

Great, more defensive lapses.

This is getting to be almost unbearable. "The White Sox have been atrocious defensively. It has been true in this series, it has been true since the very start of the season."

Eight errors in the last 7 games. Should be another error there on Alexei if not for the homer scorekeeper.

I don't know, cauf, Cain is pretty fast and hustles. He might have beat that out anyway. Most scorers would call that a hit.

Sale now reduced to a one-pitch pitcher.

Not good.

28 pitches over just six hitters.

32....33.

Turning a game over to our middle relievers....not a good idea, with no Santiago to fill in the breach.

Again, why would this game matter so much for the success KC might have this year? It would be like saying the White Sox were poised for a big year if they beat Seattle with Felix Hernandez on the mound. Seattle and Felix have been the Sox b**** for a few years now.

How is Hawk going to handle broadcasting a team this bad this season?

By saying "the Sox are X wins and x losses, but Ventura will get this turned around"

With Sale's pitch count no way he goes more than 4-5 innings today.

The minor league guys can go a few innings today.

man are they making him work

Can't really tell what's going on mlb gameday. What's the deal with Sale?

Must be nice to have a team that's focused at the plate.

I agree with Fathom on this one. KC is going to finish 2nd in the division probably no matter what happens today. Might even win the division, but Detroit appears a bit better on paper. Today doesn't matter too much, Royals still are going to do what Caufield said.

Not many swings and misses.

36 pitches to survive the 1st inning.

Sale must feel he's pitching in the 5th already. Making him work.

All those pitches and 1 run... I guess we should be happy it wasn't worse.

36 pitches for Chris, 10 for Shields.

A bit? :)

I believe the injuries would have to start mounting for the Tigers for the Royals to win this division. And that's very possible. The injury bug seems to be hitting everyone.
