May 24, 201312 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20130523 Kannapolis scored 4 in the top of the 12th. Gave up 5 in the bottom. Walks, wild pitches, bad baseball.
May 24, 201312 yr Santos Rodriguez with a nice performance. He's going to be looked to as a replacement for Thornton (IF IF IF) he can improve his control. We'll see what Don Cooper can do with him or Olacio.

Feels like he's been around forever and really not much has changed over the years. Still great stuff, poor control. I believe he's in his first option year and he's only 25, so we still have some time with him. However, he seems like a guy who may benefit significantly from working with Cooper in the majors. I wouldn't mind them calling him up when rosters expand and getting him some innings with Cooper this year. As bad as Matt Thornton has been at times recently, he won't be easily replaced and Rodriguez definitely seems like one of the better in-house options.

Don Cooper is not going to have to work with Olacio at the MLB level until 2016 at the very earliest, and it's more likely he'll never work with him.
May 24, 201312 yr Nice outing for Hansen, he's a guy I was keying on to potentially jump onto the radar this season. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 24, 2013 -> 08:34 AM) Don Cooper is not going to have to work with Olacio at the MLB level until 2016 at the very earliest, and it's more likely he'll never work with him. Yeah, Olacio is at least a couple years away from even being in Major League Camp in ST, let along spending much time working with Coop. Also, there is no indication at all he's a reliever yet, and certainly not a LOOGY type. Santos Rodriguez wasn't even looked at as a LOOGY type guy, more of an overall late innings reliever - but we'll see how he continues to develop, if he does at all.
May 24, 201312 yr Apparently a bit of a crazy finish in the Kanny/Hickory game last night. 2-2 after 11, Kanny scored 4 in the top of the 12th to go up 6-2, and Hickory scored 5 in the bottom of the 12th to win. They scored those 5, BTW, and got 2 hits the entire inning.
