August 26, 200322 yr Just wondering who you would all pick, heres mine: AL MVP: Still undecided AL CY: Loaiza NL MVP: Bonds NL CY: Nomo (even though I dont think he'll win)
August 26, 200322 yr Loiaza is not a shoe in just yet, but i think as long as he continues to pitch decently he will win. my picks are as follows. AL MVP- Ichiro AL Cy Young- Loiaza NL MVP- Pujols NL CyYoung- Smoltz
August 26, 200322 yr AL Cy Young: Esteban Loiaza AL MVP: Carlos Delgado NL Cy Young: Russ Ortiz NL MVP: Albert Pujols
August 26, 200322 yr AL Cy Young - Esteban Loaiza AL MVP - Magglio Ordoñez NL Cy Young - Eric Gagne NL MVP - Albert Pujols
August 26, 200322 yr AL MVP- Ichiro Suzuki AL Cy Young- Esteban Loaiza NL MVP- Pujols deserves it, Bonds will win it NL Cy Young- Russ Ortiz
August 26, 200322 yr Loiza deserves it just as much.. but I bet Halladay will get it. Imo, I'd pick Loiaza or Hudson depending on who does better down the stretch.
August 26, 200322 yr AL CY Young = Foulke (sorry); Loiaza or Hudson if they go lights out AL MVP = Ichiro/Maggs/Some Yankee = = Delgado if nobody carries their team NL MVP= Bonds (sentimental vote now as well) Pujols if the Cards win NL CY Young = Prior; Ortiz; Gagne; Smoltz All of these races are open depending on the last month of the season. Whichever player stands out in the next 5 weeks wins it.
August 26, 200322 yr Maggs also doesn't have the RBI total to win. Not to slight Maggs, but for a large portion of the year he wasn't exactly coming up HUGE. Sure he was good, but he wasn't great. Get those run production numbers up and then I'd say he's got a legit shot.
August 26, 200322 yr AL MVP: ??? still up for grabs(Giambi, Ichiro, Delgado, Maggs, Someone from Boaton) its still anyones race. AL CY Young: Loiza -- although before the season started I said it would be Halladay -- which it still could. NL MVP: Pujols NL CY YOUNG: Gagne
August 27, 200322 yr AL Cy Young: Esteban Loiaza AL MVP: Carlos Delgado NL Cy Young: Russ Ortiz NL MVP: Albert Pujols Bingo!
August 27, 200322 yr Maggs has no chance, not even if we make the WS. Votes are cast before the postseason, which makes the world series irrelevant in the race for MVP, but it does make it that much important for Magglio to go on a tear in September.
August 27, 200322 yr Author Albert Pujols is having a fantastic season but Barry Bonds is absolutely THE Most Valuable Player. What that guy brings to a team is just unbelievable. He gets managers to think about facing him two, three innings before he even comes up. What he did right after he came back from visiting his dad left no doubt in my mind, two game winning homers in three games. He is the true definition of an MVP.
August 27, 200322 yr AL MVP- Delgado. His team aint great but no one in the AL even comes close to his numbers. Theyre outstanding. AL CY- Loaiza. I think he still has a shot if the Sox miss the playoffs but if we make the playoffs hes a shoe in. NL MVP- If the Cards win, Pujols, if they dont Sheffield. Sheffield plays on a sure playoff team and he only has two less RBIs and one less bomb. But if the Cards go to the playoffs, its definitely Pujols. NL CY- Jason Schmidt. He has a great record, great ERA and he plays on a great team. What else can ya ask for?
August 27, 200322 yr CY's usually goes to the guy with the most wins unless it's really close which would rule out Schmidt, Ortiz is way out in front with Nomo next and having the best all around stats. Loaiza wins with the most wins in the AL. EOS!! Delgado? Not a chance.
