Beardless McCann is gonna be weird.

It was only a matter of time before he would realize that beards are against the unwritten rules of baseball

Cross off McCann. We need AJP anyway. The Yanks have money to burn still

They would probably ask for Quintana back. Big mistake on their part to let him walk in free agency a few years ago.

Big mistake indeed! Can't say I would do that deal. If Sanchez was closer to MLB ready than yes but not with him at least a few years away yet. I'd consider Santiago for sure.

I think Rangers are making Soto their primary catcher. That was the word earlier anyway.

Did they legalize PEDs?

That's not a bad dollar amount for him and he absolutely needed to come to the AL where he could DH sometimes. I'd have paid that if I were in Hahn's chair and I had a $125 million budget and the ability to win this year.

Agreed. Not too bad of a deal for the Yankees, but would have been too much for the Sox to pay right now.

He's a .350-.360 wOBA guy at the catcher position, which is reall good. But if you put that at DH, that's not worth anywhere near $17 million a year.

And that's where he'll end up.

Like this idea myself. He's a few years away but why not? Wonder what the Yanks would want.

Nothing we would be willing to part with.

I see what you mean. Not like the Sox are overloaded with talent to spare. They need all the quality aspects they have right now while Hahn replenishes the farm. At least the farm is finally heading in the right direction.

One more thing, love the Sig Rock!

Salty must be happy. He just went from the predicted 3 years/$27M to something like 5 years/$60M.

Will be interesting to see what Hahn does. Because it seems they've been clear that Flowers/Phegley is way too cruddy, but who's left? AJP, Navarro, Hannigan? Seems increasingly like Red Sox will shell out for Salty.

And if Chris Young's worth $8 million, god knows what Granderson will eventually end up with (not to mention Choo and Ellsbury.)
