Wow. Cool for Youk.

Youkilis considered the opportunity to play in Japan a "life experience that was too good to pass up," said Bick.

Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 4m Kevin Youkilis will sign with the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan, according to reports.

Ah, hopefully he sells Tanaka on the White Sox.

Why not? Japanese folks love baseball as much as we do and he is almost definitely going to make more money for this season.

The "Why not" is that I think he'd still be a quality MLB contributor if he could stay healthy and I don't think he can stay healthy. I don't think going to Japan will somehow keep him healthy.

If he is about ready to retire the life experience thing makes alot of sense. What more can he really do in MLB and spending a season in Japan would be fun.
