May 6, 201411 yr http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20140505 Hawkins with 2 K's. Montas seems like he's doing pretty well. 5 IP, 3 H, BB, 4 K's Kevan Smith with his first homer. Axelrod bombed, 7 runs surrendered in one inning. Gillaspie and Keppinger both playing. Edited May 6, 201411 yr by caulfield12
May 6, 201411 yr Montas done. 5.0 IP, 3 H, R, ER, BB, 4 K Encouraging. I believe Parks has described his fastball as a motherf***er pitch.

Very good for first start back. Josh Norris @jnorris427 Francellis Montas: FB 92-96 T97-98, SL 86-87. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/jnorris427/statuses/463455515226669056
May 6, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 5, 2014 -> 06:37 PM) Very good for first start back. https://twitter.com/jnorris427/statuses/463455515226669056 Promote him to the Top 10 prospects!!! If he keeps pitching like this, and sure, tons of concerns about long-term durability/stamina as a starter, but he's going to be ranked #5-9 at the end of the season. Hawkins with a 2 run scoring double, also a BB. At .289. Birmingham pitching bombed out of the stadium as well, to match Axelrod's putrid start. Edited May 6, 201411 yr by caulfield12
May 6, 201411 yr Author Can we please find some starting pitching in the upper levels? Edited May 6, 201411 yr by caulfield12
May 6, 201411 yr Wendelken and Rondon all playing well so far in the first month + to go along with Montas' encouraging start.
May 6, 201411 yr Author QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 5, 2014 -> 07:34 PM) Wendelken and Rondon all playing well so far in the first month + to go along with Montas' encouraging start. Not sure about the Wendelken part. Charlotte with a huge comeback late after the 7 runs surrendered in the 1st, fueled by Black/Wilkins/Tekotte homers. Great outing by the bullpen. Heath, DLS 2, Guerra and Francisco all pitched well. Frankie with the save. Conor was 0/4, has 8 AB's so far and might be coming back to Chicago for Wednesday's game. Keppinger took an 0 fer but had a couple of walks. Edited May 6, 201411 yr by caulfield12
May 6, 201411 yr Bassitt and Lopez returning will be a nice boost. Bassitt should be back soon. Edited May 6, 201411 yr by Stan Bahnsen
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (bmags @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) Would anyone else prefer Tekotte to Sierra? Flip a coin
May 6, 201411 yr but Tekotte: 1: Way better name 2: Won the Darin Erstad Grindery Award in Spring Training 3: Diving catch!
May 6, 201411 yr QUOTE (bmags @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) Would anyone else prefer Tekotte to Sierra? Meh, I don't think it really matters. Sierra seems to have a higher ceiling, but I don't see anything of them being more the AAAA.
