With Tyler Flowers' wife having a baby, might be seeing @JoshPhegley tonight at the Cell.

The Sox should sell it like the circus. Come see the catcher who can't catch.

Not unless someone in Charlotte leaked it. Usually it comes out late afternoon when the players and writers start getting to the ballpark.

White Sox wouldn't make an announcement? "Flowers is going on paternity leave and will be out a few games, someone will be called up"

They would. But again, those usually don't get made until press starts getting to the ballpark.

They like to call it a corresponding move.

I know this is a joke, but I believe the emergency catcher is Conor.

Yikes, I feel like Conor would just call for fastballs high and inside to get back at the cruel cruel world.

It's a good thing Conor wasn't playing catcher over Barrett when AJ got punched in the face. He would shoot icy daggers at him and AJ would be obligated to apologize for his unruly actions of being himself.

Dan Hayes tweeted this last season:

In case you're wondering, #WhiteSox emergency catcher is Conor Gillaspie. Never caught before. He's just the guy in case.

Also, this tidbit from a 5/27 article:

• Conor Gillaspie would have served as the emergency catcher Monday, after Flowers was ejected and Adrian Nieto came into the game. Ventura gave him the nod over Leury Garcia, but Paul Konerko, who came up with the Dodgers as a catcher, no longer is in the running.

Tyler is available tonight with Nieto starting. Interesting that Conor would be the backup.

Flowers' wife had a baby after last night's game. He won't start but is expected be here at game time.

Probably don't want to harm his knees and have him lose all of that speed! ;)
