January 11, 201511 yr Author QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 11, 2015 -> 12:42 PM) Is he a FA? I'd take him in a heartbeat. Yeah, he threw a week ago I believe, and there were scouts from 12-15 different teams there.

Still, once his price lowers and he’s no longer holding out for a major league contract, teams will compete for his services. Edited January 11, 201511 yr by LDF

January 12, 201511 yr update, mlb rumors, Dr Andrews said Alexi will be ready to pitch for opening day http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
January 12, 201511 yr The Sox should at least throw a bid out there for him. He's a nice arm to have solely for depth if nothing else. It's a low risk/high reward type of move.

I can definitely see him as the 6th starter-swingman that I'd hoped Bassitt could become. Good for a team that can't be too sure what it has at the BOR. Can he be what he was a few years ago?
January 12, 201511 yr QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jan 12, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) I can definitely see him as the 6th starter-swingman that I'd hoped Bassitt could become. Good for a team that can't be too sure what it has at the BOR. Can he be what he was a few years ago? he wouldn't be the pitcher i would selected. but he is something better than nothing. the sox needs a very good arm that can be depended on to enter the game when or if someone gets hurt. also to help on the work load when the sox's enter the playoff. the present group of pitchers doesn't have any playoff experience and those extra innings pitching.
