Joe Posnansk: Pena Says "It's not over yet"

Here's another attempt from our friend Joe Posnanski in hiding his TRUE feelings of the Royals and their chances in this division. I like how, in the last sentence of the first paragraph, he states: "They fell 4 ½ games back."

Uhhhhhhhh, to WHO did they fall 4 1/2 games back? That's right! The CHICAGO WHITE SOX! Posnanski doesn't want to say it! LOL!

Every day, Posnanski continues to side-step the underlying issue that it's too late!!!

Heather, did you read the whole article? Posanski is indirectly admitting that KC is lifeless and has no chance of winning the division. Of course Tony Pena would say something like were "still in it, theres a lot of baseball left." Imagine how it would be to talk to the media and concede the division. Posanski knows there is no hope left, unless the Royals go on a ridiculous 16-3 run.

The line following the Stones summarizes his tone:

"And sometimes, Mick could have added, you need a win. And you don't get it. That's how even the most magical seasons come to an end."

That might have been the worst piece of fluff I have read in a loooooooooong time.

hey heather.. before you go counting world series playoff games before they hatch.. just remember that we have a tough schedule coming up and we could very well easily be that 4 and 1/2 games back when all is said and done....one game at a time and be thankful for each win....... ;) btw do we really care what some asshole writer from kc thinks? hell we dont even listen to our writers here....so whats the big deal???lol

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

KC has 7 more games against the Sox.

Even if they can't catch the Sox themselves, they can still f*** THIS SEASON UP for the boys!!!

1....2....3....NO!!!! I'm gonna wait for the chickens to hatch!!!

You have got to have some hope, vision into future, fun with this game, etc, whatver, whatever,

Your right we need to play every game like it's the most important one but saying that I think we can all agree the Sox are in the drivers seat right now. Otherwise we are saying that someone else controls our destiny and that just ain't so.

it's wayyyyyy too soon to talk trash -- to the twinkies or royals

I guess I need to revive my 7-0 thread because there is WAY too much trash talking and celebrating going on here. Dumbasses, unless the sox win the next two, THE TWINS still have the advantage in this division!!!!

EXACTLY right!!!!!

seven games with Detroit for a team that has won 21 of 22 against Detroit

Way I figure, if the Tigers beat the Twinkies more than once it will be a bonus

Getting back to Joe. If he was writing for the Trib and homing it for the Sox like that we would errect a f***ing statue to him at the Cell. I wish a Chicago paper would hire a guy like that to counter the "objective" journalist we have now.

If you had a choice of reading a guy like Joe being blindly loyal to the Sox or Jay Marriotti who would you rather read?

Hey HSC..... did anyone ever tell you that you make alot of sense for being a chick  ?

It ain't over until KC is mathematically eliminated. Everyone needs to remember that.

lol no killa.. never been told i made any sense for a chick.. ive been told however, that since im a woman i dont know jack s*** about baseball ....... ;) go figure huh.....

Well I'm shocked, our good friend from KC Joe has decided to write about his beloved Royals again.

"But what it will take now. A miracle. Hey, anything's possible."

Puh-lease, maybe he's just saying that to please his buddy from Espn, Rob Neyer.

Hey, bmr,

I'm wondering why you chose MY post to quote when you're talking about overcelebration.

My post was about NOT celebrating - e.g., not counting chickens before they hatch.

Unless you meant to agree, I'm not sure why my post was there.

...and please ralax with name-calling, it actually weakens your argument.

If you had a choice of reading a guy like Joe being blindly loyal to the Sox or Jay Marriotti who would you rather read?

Hey, Tex,

Asking someone to choose between KC Joe and Hysteriotti is like asking if you'd rather get a kick in the face or a punch in the throat.

Neither one is any good and I try to avoid both...
