September 10, 200322 yr Heather, did you read the whole article? Posanski is indirectly admitting that KC is lifeless and has no chance of winning the division. Of course Tony Pena would say something like were "still in it, theres a lot of baseball left." Imagine how it would be to talk to the media and concede the division. Posanski knows there is no hope left, unless the Royals go on a ridiculous 16-3 run. The line following the Stones summarizes his tone: "And sometimes, Mick could have added, you need a win. And you don't get it. That's how even the most magical seasons come to an end."

My post was about NOT celebrating - e.g., not counting chickens before they hatch.
