July 13, 201510 yr It's amazing to see how much speed is currently in our system, Eddy Alvarez is 4th in SBs in the SAL, Engel is leading the Carolina League in SBs, Anderson leads the Southern League and Saladino, Leury Garcia and Micah Johnson are all in the top 10 in SBs in the International League. I can't remember a time when we've had so many burners in the minors.

July 13, 201510 yr Reminds me of when I first started following the minors as a kid and thought Ruddy Yan was going to be the next Rickey Henderson.

This is when I was so naive about prospects and took everything that Phil Rogers said about them in the BA Prospect Guide to be the gospel. That 80 stolen base season was something though he did nothing else. Edited July 13, 201510 yr by maggsmaggs

Probably cause you had someone like me writing about how great he was going to be (if he could hit). That guy was fast though (Ruddy).
