Why Frank? If any sox player should win it, id vote for Carlos right now. His numbers are easily better.

Because Frank has the best glory numbers out of all of the first place teams, big named players. There are no media darlings who have better numbers on the good teams. This year each canditiate has some big hole, and if the Sox win the division he is as good of a canditiate as anyone else. The things holding him back are his low RBI to HR's and low BA.

I still think Estban is a better canidate for MVP than Frank. Estaban IMO has been THE Most Valuable Player for the Sox. But I really hope Frank brings it home.

In general I agree with that philosophy, but Loaiza may have to be be the exception this year though. we all know where the team would be without his out-of-the-blue, totally expected year. He is the only reason we're still in it, and that should warrent MVP consideration.

And this is with Lee hitting in the 2 spot for a lot of games this year! But that is exactly why Thomas's HR/RBI ratio is about 2.4 and Carlos's is 3.6! Don't tell me what you hit, tell me when you hit it!

If Thomas wins it I think it is a shame as he is being rewarded for striking out and going for homers. I like Ordonez and Lee's numbers better. I like Thomas but Loiaza, Ordonez and Lee shoudl be thought of higher. Mags really needs to hit to right with a man on first and less than two outs. The DP's are killing him.

Personally, at this point, I dont even see Frank as a top 10 mvp candidate. Hes 3rd on our team alone. If he can raise his average 20 or 30 points, he may have a shot. The problem with the sox is if they make the playoffs, votes may be split between maggs frank and carlos, allowing someone on another team to win it.

Kurkjerk is such a hypocrite. He said that Kansas City would win the division, he's been riding the Sox all year long for not winning early on. He's full of it.

 

Frank deserves MVP. Frank has had at least two games where he's homered twice and won the game for us, one vs. Anaheim the other vs. Minnesota. He's got a killer OBP. And he's driving runs in. Frank also is 2nd in homers. He will win it.

IMHO and I'm certain someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but Frank sets the tone for this team. He might be the third or fourth best player on the team but he provides some great leadership. When Frank retires it will be a toss up between Maggs and Lee but until them Frank Thomas is the guy. He also deserved it a couple times in the mid 90s and didn;t because we basically sucked. There is always the sentimental factor in voting.

 

E-Lo Cy Young possibilities may effect Frank or any other Sox from winning. When was the last time a team had the Cy Young and MVP? I'm old and forgetful.

 

If we are going to give reasons for Lee or Maggs I'm surprised no one mentioned they play the field while Frank is DH.

i guess that reynolds didnt check with melton and whats his face on the fns pre/post game shows.. they are both tootin maggs horn pretty darn loud these days for mvp.....hawk and dj are as well..........
