September 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 10, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) Yes, I am well aware of this. He makes the distinction because there is actually a Winston team, seperate from Winston-Salem.

September 10, 201510 yr Author QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 10, 2015 -> 01:12 PM) Well, you keep calling them Winston. No one else does that. Didn't realize I needed to since I am posting on a Sox board in the future sox forum. A thousand pardons...
September 10, 201510 yr QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 10, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) He makes the distinction because there is actually a Winston team, seperate from Winston-Salem. There is? I know there is a Salem Red Sox team in the same league.
September 10, 201510 yr Almonte pitched over two walks and a Jake Peter error. No score after 1. This is a best-of-3 Carolina League semi-final, so a win advances them.
September 10, 201510 yr Author Scoreless with Winston batting in the top of the 3rd. Looks like Almonte has settled down.
September 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Sep 10, 2015 -> 08:10 PM) How about we just call them WSD from now on? I'm calling them the Warthogs from now on. No hits through 7. Down 4-0.
September 11, 201510 yr 4-1 in the 9th, two on, no out, and rain on the way. another walk, bases loaded pitching change. Hopefully they can suspend this until tomorrow if they have to. Edited September 11, 201510 yr by flavum

September 11, 201510 yr QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 01:50 AM) Not sure, considering it's postseason. Rain delay. thanks for your answer.
September 11, 201510 yr Author Hopefully the rain doesn't kill the momentum they had going. Would love to see Trey hit a slam when the game resumes.
September 11, 201510 yr update: It would not be over if they call it tonight. They would suspend it with bases loaded, nobody out.
September 12, 201510 yr I was at the game. I took video and live tweeted some stuff. I'll try to have it edited this week and I'll post the video. Long story short, Almonte was pumping some very good velo, threw a few really great sliders at 83 MPH, but missed with a ton of fastballs high and saw his slider slip out of his hand often to lefties. He left a lot of pitches away or up.
September 14, 201510 yr QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 12, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) I was at the game. He gets hyped, tries to get more gas, and leaves pitches up and they flatten. It's a pattern with him. Looking forward to video!
