Home Depot seems to have a dumb rule that if your flooring doesn't go all the way under a dishwasher, they won't install a new one. Cute.

Kinda dumb question but did sub flooring factor in a lot into the quote? I figured what mattered most was square footage.

Kind of, we could tell by the height of the floor vs. the surrounding original wood that they laid the tile on top. We quoted laying down new subfloor since, what the hell, how often do you dig that up.

The problem was for some reason they had screwed in these gigantic screws under the tile into th e slats that took them forever to pry up. Ended up adding a half a day but they covered it under their original quote.

I had some friends that bought a new dishwasher and didn't get it installed for years because they would've had to either tear up the kitchen floor or their counter tops to even get the old one out. It wouldn't fit over the edge of the tile flooring they had. Had they put the flooring all the way under, they wouldn't have had that problem.
