February 25, 201610 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/165...spects-revealed Actually, it was Jim Callis not Merkin. Edited February 25, 201610 yr by ChiSox59
February 25, 201610 yr One good thing about this year's list, in terms of the health of the system, is that we're not likely to see any significant graduations in 2016. Fulmer and Anderson will likely get September looks, but we should be going into 2017 with a lot more depth than we've had in a while.

February 25, 201610 yr Author Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 17m17 minutes ago I hear mixed reviews. Some say Anderson is legit SS, other say lacks hands/reliability & will be CF @WhiteSox #Top30 We didn't rank systems beyond Top 10 at @MLBPipeline, my sense is @WhiteSox would fit around 20 or so. #Top30 TBA. If AFL for real, Engel = everyday guy. If not, 4th OF who doesn't get most out of nice tools. @WhiteSox #Top30 I'm all in on Fulmer. SP, consistent + stuff & competes, believe in that > worry about size & deliv @WhiteSox #Top30 Don't think we'll see Fulmer this year as big lg starter. Think it can happen in 2017, though. @WhiteSox #Top30 We'll see. Like the raw power, wonder if Zangari makes consistent contact against better pitching. @WhiteSox #Top30 [Johan] Cruz could be if last year's offensive surge is for real. Already has defensive chops. @WhiteSox #Top30 Interesting project. Hickman has power arm, looked like maybe 1st-rder before down spring & then TJ @WhiteSox #Top30 Adam Sager @AdamGSager @jimcallisMLB Do you see Trey Michalczewski taking over for Frazier at 3B in 2018? Jim Callis added That's the path Michalczewski is on. Always liked him back to HS, can be solid all-around at 3B. @WhiteSox #Top30

February 25, 201610 yr Author Alex Cole @Alex_Cole_4 @jimcallisMLB a lot more young talent from the international market than we've seen in the past. Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 7m7 minutes ago Yes. Marco Paddy has rebuilt @WhiteSox' international program after bonus-skimming debacle. #Top30 John Bjerkness @johnbj14 @jimcallisMLB When do you think Tyler Danish is ready to make impact in the bigs/what to reasonably expect from him? Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 7m7 minutes ago Love Danish's heart but rough year in Double-A & might be RP. Mid-2017 ETA. @WhiteSox #Top30 Adam Sager @AdamGSager @jimcallisMLB Favorite #WhiteSox prospect outside of top 10? Pitcher and position player. Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 7m7 minutes ago Always like this type of question. RHP Jordan Stephens & C Jhoandro Alfaro. @WhiteSox #Top30 Allan Dudek @Exposfan1998 @jimcallisMLB @whitesox Does Keon Barnum power ever get him to MLB? Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 7m7 minutes ago Another extreme longshot. @WhiteSox #Top30 Andy Van Psych @cronebender @jimcallisMLB @whitesox @MLBPipeline Any chance for Cleluis Rondon to have a bat even worthy of MLB utility role? Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 7m7 minutes ago Extreme longshot, though Rondon is a gifted defender at SS. @WhiteSox #Top30 Luc McDowell @lucmcd17 @jimcallisMLB @whitesox @MLBPipeline Besides Fulmer and Anderson, whose next closest to MLB ready? Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 6m6 minutes ago Not a lot of candidates ... Chris Beck, if healthy, I guess. @WhiteSox #Top30
February 25, 201610 yr Author Lil Sean from 79th @thatdudesk @jimcallisMLB what is Spencer Adams upside? Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 5m5 minutes ago Huge upside. Adams could have plus stuff, very athletic, advanced command, love him as prospect @WhiteSox #Top30 Matt Manzella @MatManz @jimcallisMLB @whitesox @MLBPipeline Is there anything at catcher that excites you? Jim Callis @jimcallisMLB 8m8 minutes ago I do like Alfaro's upside. Zavala had interesting debut, need to see more. Both far away from bigs. @WhiteSox #Top10

Hickman has power arm, looked like maybe 1st-rder before down spring & then TJ @WhiteSox #Top30 Since no one has mentioned it yet, this was the most interesting thing said in the chat. Obviously he is coming off of Tommy John and is only close to starting to throw again. But if Hickman really does turn out to be first round pick quality, he would instantly give us another big time prospect for the 2018 to 2019 range. It would be a huge boost to the system for a guy that hasn't generated a lot of conversation as of yet.

That slash line for Anderson has me all sorts of giddy. That's all star caliber numbers from the SS position.
February 26, 201610 yr Well, right now, there's arguably two guys in Stephens and Hickman that a lot of scouts are very high on. Of course, the same types of things were said about Beck when he was drafted, that he was once viewed as fairly high first round draft pick. At any rate, with Danish/Guerrero and then Stephens and eventually Hickman pushing up...that helps to rebalance the system pretty quick if any of those four guys along with Adams can make it.

Beck has also pitched at the major league level. That is a drafting success.
