Robbie comments

Well now I officially don't like Robbie. He said that he likes Manuel as our coach and thinks he does a good job. I think this is only because a guy like Robbie can coast with a manager like Jerry. Jerry won't say anything to a great veteran like Robbie cause he might actually argue back. Where as a with a decent manager he might actually have to face the music once and a while.

Those comments really pissed me off. We should get Ray Knight in here to coach.

Ray Knight? Let's do one better and get Bobby Knight. I don't care if he's a basketball coach.

Now that I think about it Robbie might just have said that to look nice. You don't want to say in an interview "Well he's brudal, he doesn't actually care". Meh! whatever...

Bobby Knight is who I was thinking of, who's Ray?

I know that name. For some reason I do think he was a former MLB manager, but I'm not sure.

Ray Knight is from the Reds. I think he managed for them and if I'm not mistaken he was a very respected pitching coach for a long time.

Wrong, Chisox Fan. Ray was never a pitching coach. He managed the Reds and was criticized for being too tough on the players, too critical, etc. He was mainly a third baseman for the Reds and Mets -- he scored the winning run when Buckner made his famous erro at first in the World Series

I don't think that Knight was a pitching coach. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Knight was an infielder for the 86 Mets, and he was a coach in the bigs for a bit recently.

ray knight was with cincy from 74-81 houston from 82-84 mets from 84-86 balt in 87 and det in 88........

Man, Robbie has 2 World Series rings, why do you think that he will be worried about JM???? He just wants money. JM doesnt say a p to the players when they struggle or do something wrong...

My bad...at least I nailed the managerial part. Hell, I was so young then :D

Ray Knight is also Mr. Nancy Lopez, if I'm not mistaken. (LPGA golfer for you youngsters out there.) :)
