Really at this point it’s all a waiting game, until we hear deal is close or the White Sox X account breaks the news we’re all SOL here.
-
Yeah he’s saying nothing more than we know already, they’re waiting
-
Not saying if I were the Marlins I’d do this but pretty sure this tells you how the Marlins feel about Mike Elias offering them Jorge Mateo or Joey Ortiz for Luzardo or Braxton Garrett https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/01/marlins-rumors-adalberto-mondesi-free-agent.html?utm_source=twitter

I agree
-
I doubt it, he doesn’t have it in him
-
The only thing stopping Mike Elias from trading for Dylan Cease is Mike Elias. Ownership won’t allow Elias to spend on Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery.
-
I think he really wants Cease but he like many other GMs were expecting Getz, as a first time GM, to give in by now. I think eventually a deal gets done with Baltimore, they’ve made the most sense for a year now.
-
If Mayo is the ask, fine, if a trade with the O’s goes down as long as one of Mayo/Kjerstad + Westburg, I’m golden. Otherwise regardless of what a certain few have said about the negatives of keeping Cease, Chris Getz feels otherwise so we have no choice but to be cool with letting Dylan cook with Maldonado and Bannister. More teams will be ready to jump come the deadline, Mike Elias doesn’t have the cajones to do it right now
-
Yeah they’re trippin over there now, if I’m the Marlins GM and that’s their offer I’m deleting Mike Elias’ phone number. Mayo/Basallo headline.
-
Not enough for Chris Getz
-
He would be yes
-
Cool, let them then.
-
Bump
-
He’s not getting moved and that’s fine with me, if you have a price that hasn’t been met, take the gamble and see what happens come the deadline. I’m sure the O’s or others have offered a nice package but not enough to move the needle for the Sox.
-
We’re all in agreement here that Mike Elias isn’t gonna pay the price to get Cease right now, right? Got a feeling it’s Kjerstad AND Westburg.
-
Fine, fine, fine Westburg AND Kjerstad for Dylan Cease, call it in.
-
I’m cool with wherever they put him as long as they have him, I think his bat is gonna be elite and actually provide power unlike Vaughn
-
Same, if Mayo is truly not on the table, give me Kjerstad who I think his bat is going to be elite. Maybe Getz is pushing for Kjerstad AND Westburg?
-
I don’t see Jackson Holliday, Coby Mayo, Basallo, or Kjerstad in that trade. That’s a big hell no from me dawg
-
Angels are dumb enough to pay him for multiple years, Monty back to the Rangers. I think Elias and Getz find a meeting ground
-
Team stinks, who cares if they try out Crochet at starter. At least Getz is being very transparent
-
Kjerstad, Ortiz, Povich is where I’m gonna hold at. No more (unless of course they’d give us more), no less though, feel like that’s a great meeting point for both teams. Cowser granted in a small sample size just doesn’t do it for me at all.
-
Spencer Jones < Kjerstad, Mayo, Basallo, or Holliday (I know not available just saying) and that’s it. I would take Spencer Jones as a headliner over anybody else in the O’s system. Dominguez < Holliday and that’s it
-
If Getz doesn’t get what he’s asking for then wait, simple. I get the injury risk and what not, but rebuild the value and then some, he’s gonna be a Cy Young contender again
-
I understand it’s bleacher report, but check out where Ortiz, Quero, and Shultz are ranked https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10103552-updated-top-100-mlb-prospects-at-the-start-of-2024.amp.html
