  1. Yeah I still want Kjerstad, hope Cowser figures it out and Beavers becomes what you guys think he could be but Kjerstad’s left handed power is too promising to pass on if it’s a pick between Cowser and Kjerstad for the Sox, they need to strike gold with trading Cease, can’t bank on Cowser simply figuring it out.
  2. Watched some of Cowsers highlights from last season, looked like Joey Gallo without as much power. Get Kjerstad his bat is ready now
  3. Kjerstad+Ortiz/Norby+Povich nothing less. I don’t trust Cowser to hit velocity, Kjerstad seems to handle major league pitching much better.
  4. Cool, then Kjerstad can replace Andrew Vaughn’s lack of power.
  5. Kjerstad/Norby or Ortiz/Povich Cowser stunk in the bigs last year for the short time he was there
  6. Did you hear any rumors about Bummer and Atlanta? I’m sure the Yankees, Red Sox, and multiple others are talking to Getz about Cease.
  7. Kjerstad, Ortiz/Norby, and a pitcher while the Sox may be valuing pitching, this would get it over the line.
  8. Now imagine you’re Dylan Cease who was coming into the year ace of the staff, year prior you came in 2nd for Cy young in an LONG 81-81 season, 2023 have been struggling with your mechanics all year, the clubhouse is a complete joke, the entire organization is being dragged about everything and anything, Giolito, Lance Lynn, ReyLo Graveman have all been traded, it’s deadline day your team is 25 games under, your name was being thrown around all day to be traded to a contending baseball team, your hyped ready to go only to stay with your dog crap team. Next day you face the Rangers, he looked like he had no intention of trying to pitch and It’s no surprise his August stunk, the fact that he turned it on come September tells you what you need to know about him. He’s gonna be a Cy Young candidate wherever he gets dealt. The price should be high, Chris Getz should not budge.
  9. If the broadcasters, pre/post-game media couldn’t wait for the season to be over in June, imagine the players in a 90 degree game when you’re 20 games out. Of course there is professionalism involved but this is a fantasy world where a bunch of dudes are paid millions of dollars to play a game.
  10. Nah guaranteed Cease would have sucked with zero shot of regaining any sort of motivation by getting traded to a contender.
  11. One of them actually went to a contender and was bad, the other didn’t get a chance to.
  12. If the O’s seriously balked at that price then, they aren’t the trade partner for the Sox. 2.5 full seasons of Dylan Cease for that and they passed, cmon man. Let the free agents sign, once they start signing the more teams will be interested in trading prospects for starting pitching. Make Baltimore get desperate if they really want Cease. Again the Sox hold all the cards
  13. “In that case it’s not gonna be any top 10 prospects”
  14. Kjerstad it is then, start the write up on your forum and let’s all get everyone on board
  15. Could we be overvaluaing Dylan Cease, sure 100% but the Sox hold all the cards here, it’s not like he is making $30 mil next year and are trying to dump salary, I guarantee you most if not all teams would happily slot in a dude for the next 2 years, making a measly $10 mil max, has made 30+ starts each of the last 3 seasons, with Cy Young potential for prospects. It’s about finding a deal that makes sense for Chris Getz, if it’s not out there then so be it, last thing he’s gonna do though is settle for a lackluster return (Cowser & Ortiz)
  16. So then if you’re Chris Getz, essentially everyone is off the table as a headliner outside of a dude who came up and stunk in his first taste and the wonderful Jim Callis isn’t a fan of, what would you do? If Elias isn’t willing to play ball then again there really isn’t a deal to be had with the O’s
  17. Their fanbase wouldn’t be as open to trading him of course. He struggled so let’s give him up instead of Kjerstad who looked more competent or Mayo who is raking in the minors
  18. I know it was 60 ABs but Cowser stunk last year in the bigs, if you’re trading a Dylan Cease and you’re seeking pitching back, your main return can’t be a positional player coming off a terrible first major league stint. We all saw what other major league GMs saw. Sox can get better than him. This isn’t me saying Cowser won’t be good but too much risk giving up a proven major league top of the rotation arm for Cowser
  19. If Elias isn’t is willing to give up more than Cowser(MAYBE) or Ortiz as the headliners than there really is no business to be discussed here
  20. It’s even more foolish to trade him and not get the value that a frontline arm with 2 years left on his deal should command. Kjerstad, Ortiz (neither of whom had any hand in a 101 win season last year) and an arm of your choosing is fair value for a TOR arm. Trading a 26 year old MVP candidate with 4 years left of control is incredibly foolish.
  21. Why? Sox have the leverage, they don’t HAVE to trade Cease, and it sounds like they prefer pitching prospects over positional prospects, O’s don’t meet that criteria as much as others do. If Mayo or Kjerstad aren’t in the deal then I’m moving on, not worth it then.
  22. Ortiz doesn’t move the needle as much as a Kjerstad or Mayo would though. He’d be a really fine 2nd piece but not the main piece in a Cease deal
  23. I just don’t see the Sox taking this deal, they value Cease much higher, rightfully so. If Mayo/Kjerstad aren’t the headliner then there’s really no reason to budge from the Sox side
