  1. People will say you can’t trade 6.5 years of Robert for 2.5 of Soto but the thing is you can when it’s Juan f’ing Soto, we’re not talking about trading for a top 25 hitter in the league we’re talking about trading for a top 3 hitter in the league if not the best. We can only hope Robert becomes that
  2. In regards to defense I think all of us would be ok with Adam Engel in CF if that means Juan Soto is the starting RF.
  3. I’d like to think its more of me wanting the better player who is 2 years younger and gives the Sox the best opportunity to win over the next 2 seasons. And I’d assume if it costs Robert the Sox are going to put all their chips in to lock him up long term. Doubt it happens still just saying I much prefer Soto
  4. I think they are serious about moving him but want to make sure they get the return they want for arguably the best hitter in baseball who is only 23 with still 2 more years of team control. Feel like if Robert is the main ask I’d do it, I trust Juan Soto’s development much much more than Robert’s
  5. Feel like acquiring Quintana alone would just be super underwhelming, if they could somehow manage to put a package together for Q and a piece that fits this core for the next few years (Bryan Reynolds) then Hahn needs to make it happen. If LaRussa isn’t going anywhere anytime soon then Hahn has to shake things up. Bryan Reynolds solves RF perfectly the next 3 years and has a real approach to the game that this group just does not posses right now. Unfortunately this is the same organization that thought bringing in Nomar Mazara and Adam Eaton would fix the problem. It’s a pipe dream but anything less than a an eye opening move just feels like you’re just kicking the can down the road
  6. Feel like in the end it comes down to accountability. The owner gifted the manger with the most talented young team in baseball after his second DUI, accountability doesn’t exist in this organization so why would the players feel it. This team needs a major surgery, one that potentially requires bigger names to be moved, not just a new manager.
  7. Josh Bell? Yeah another corner guy but he’d give you some pop from the left side at least and is a FA after this year
  8. I’m all for regime change but do we really trust Jerry to bring in the right people to fix this? I’m getting very GarPaxy vibes from Hahn and co. Just not having a clue on how to build a real contender, not being able to keep guys healthy, not investing in scouting, player development, making lazy moves that don’t move the needle and there’s a common denominator at both organizations: Jerry He’s a great businessman but is way too damn loyal to those below him which is great for them but creates mediocre results because those in charge become unimaginative. I know it’s cliche but I feel like until Jerry is gone this will never get better, it’s sad af too because all of us invest so much time, energy, and money into this organization just to be given the middle finger back by them cutting so many corners in the way they do baseball business.
  9. Either Hahn doesn’t have the balls to tell Tony and Jerry it’s a dumb idea to sign BOTH Harrison and Leury or he’s an idiot for thinking it could work. Either way Hahn deserves a lot of this season’s blame along with Tony for not being able to lift this team put from the gutter. There’s just WAY too many players struggling to say it’s solely on the players
  10. The expectations were much higher this season though, 2016 at least Rick had a plan going forward. If they fail to make the playoffs, I would lose all hope in Rick to be able to fix this let alone with an owner who would rather an 80 year old drunk be in charge of the team. Again 2016 sucked but the writing was on the wall for Robin, I see no light at the end of the tunnel with Tony. They need a change at manager but Jerry will in no way allow it.
  11. Most likely, it really feels like there’s a black cloud over this team and front office and they don’t have the right people in place to help get them out from under it
  12. This was about as terrible a start possible for this team as you could ask for. Mainly because Abreu, TA, Robert, Grandal, and Vaughn all should be able to carry this lineup and none have been capable of doing it. Harrison and Leury have been wastes of $$ and roster spots. I don’t expect Yoan being here to turn their fortunes around because this team will only go as far as TA and Robert will take them. And I’m really sad to say it but I wouldn’t be surprised if Rick Hahn gives Eloy the Nick Madrigal treatment at the deadline if they’re still in it at that time, hell even if they’re not.
  13. Even if this was actually a possibility, I don’t trust Rick Hahn or the major league scouting department to get the right pieces here
  14. They really need Sheets bat though, I know he’s not some superstar hitter but the power potential from the left side is very useful for this team
  15. Losing Colson would hurt but not nearly as bad as Rick Hahn not doing everything he possibly can to win a World Series during this window. Think they really need a guy who can throw strikes consistently and Montas does that and his stuff is good on top of that
  16. Hopefully the Sox keep loading up on high schoolers in the upcoming draft and sign younger talent during IFA.
  17. This was my exact same thought, Rick Hahn loves making the same mistakes over again though so add this to the list of things that won’t work out.
  18. Think that their thoughts on the fan base won’t ever change until Jerry is no longer the owner and Hahn/KW are gone. Rick Hahn is still the same dude who publicly called out fans for calling the organization out for their lack of spending. He doesn’t seem to take criticisms from fans.
  19. I still have trouble wrapping my head around how we’re all clamoring for a guy just because he plays RF and bats lefty but is still coming off a 0.8 WAR season to be the answer. Maybe it was both him and Boras who messed this up but his market has been so quiet that it has me thinking that most teams feel he’s just not going to be as productive as his 2017-2019 stats. I just have a bad feeling that when/if he does sign here for however much $$ we’re going to end up being disappointed in what he brings to the team, I hope I’m wrong of course
  20. I really wish the White Sox had some more out of the box thinkers in their front office. Like how did the Red Sox come to the conclusion that they would make Trevor Story work at 2B? I’m sure lack of a market didn’t help Story and having an owner willing to go above and beyond helps but nothing this FO does has shown they can be creative.
  21. Kyrie Tucker, Alvarez, Bregman, and Altuve might be better hitters than anybody on the Sox…
  22. Good keep Hahn and Jerry on their toes instead of piddle dicking around
  23. Thinking Charlie Blackmon he’s a FA after next season
  24. Can’t wait to see his tone/reaction when they trade for a RH Wil Myers
