Lars Nootbaar would be a fantastic get, so fantastic that Chris Getz won’t even consider it
-
It’d be fantastic if Jerry Reinsdorf wakes up tomorrow and decides it’s time to sell the White Sox
-
Chris Getz should fire Pedro Grifol but Chris Getz won’t fire Pedro Grifol because he’s Chris Getz and Chris Getz shouldn’t be the head of any Major League Baseball Organization but Jerry Reinsdorf owns this organization and Jerry Reinsdorf shouldn’t be allowed to own a Major League Organization in 2023. Basically what I’m trying to say is I can’t waste my time rooting for this team as long as Jerry is here. After Jerry’s media session, I lost ALL hope.
-
I just really hope the media doesn’t go easy on Getz during the intro press conference. Vizquel, Helms, Daryl Boston, his personal qualifications, it being an insular hire, Pedro Grifol’s job status, the run differential throughout the entire organization, why the lack of positional and pitching depth. Since Jerry is gonna hide behind Getz the media really needs to nut up and get some answers. This loyal fanbase deserves honesty.

Anybody else wanna drop kick Jerry Reinsdorf in the face?
-
So anybody got any other names? Or it’s basically a forgone conclusion we’re gonna have a three headed bunch of idiots in Moore, Getz, and Grifol running this into the ground
-
Exactly, that’s not being stupid that just being completely out of touch with reality, old age
-
Considering how much money he’s made he’s definitely not stupid, he’s just completely tone def and doesn’t either realize or care how much bad taste is in our mouths now and will remain with these 2 as the hires.
-
He isn’t stupid but he is 87 years old, stubborn to actual change, and completely tone-def.
-
Bob gave the kiss of death already my friend. Dayton Moore is your next president of baseball ops and Chris Getz is the GM
-
I think it’s very safe to say that Jerry Reinsdorf does not know baseball. He may think he does but has no freaking clue how to build a successful organization. It sounds cliche af but the ONLY hope for this organization is when Jerry sells, he’s truly incapable of doing this correctly.
-
Let’s be real, Jerry ain’t interviewing anybody outside of Dayton Moore

If the Sox trade for Juan Soto we have a chance.
Rey21 replied to Jerksticks's topic in Pale Hose Talk
People will say you can’t trade 6.5 years of Robert for 2.5 of Soto but the thing is you can when it’s Juan f’ing Soto, we’re not talking about trading for a top 25 hitter in the league we’re talking about trading for a top 3 hitter in the league if not the best. We can only hope Robert becomes that -

In regards to defense I think all of us would be ok with Adam Engel in CF if that means Juan Soto is the starting RF. -

I’d like to think its more of me wanting the better player who is 2 years younger and gives the Sox the best opportunity to win over the next 2 seasons. And I’d assume if it costs Robert the Sox are going to put all their chips in to lock him up long term. Doubt it happens still just saying I much prefer Soto -

I think they are serious about moving him but want to make sure they get the return they want for arguably the best hitter in baseball who is only 23 with still 2 more years of team control. Feel like if Robert is the main ask I’d do it, I trust Juan Soto’s development much much more than Robert’s -
Feel like acquiring Quintana alone would just be super underwhelming, if they could somehow manage to put a package together for Q and a piece that fits this core for the next few years (Bryan Reynolds) then Hahn needs to make it happen. If LaRussa isn’t going anywhere anytime soon then Hahn has to shake things up. Bryan Reynolds solves RF perfectly the next 3 years and has a real approach to the game that this group just does not posses right now. Unfortunately this is the same organization that thought bringing in Nomar Mazara and Adam Eaton would fix the problem. It’s a pipe dream but anything less than a an eye opening move just feels like you’re just kicking the can down the road
-
Feel like in the end it comes down to accountability. The owner gifted the manger with the most talented young team in baseball after his second DUI, accountability doesn’t exist in this organization so why would the players feel it. This team needs a major surgery, one that potentially requires bigger names to be moved, not just a new manager.

Expectations
-
Josh Bell? Yeah another corner guy but he’d give you some pop from the left side at least and is a FA after this year
-
I’m all for regime change but do we really trust Jerry to bring in the right people to fix this? I’m getting very GarPaxy vibes from Hahn and co. Just not having a clue on how to build a real contender, not being able to keep guys healthy, not investing in scouting, player development, making lazy moves that don’t move the needle and there’s a common denominator at both organizations: Jerry He’s a great businessman but is way too damn loyal to those below him which is great for them but creates mediocre results because those in charge become unimaginative. I know it’s cliche but I feel like until Jerry is gone this will never get better, it’s sad af too because all of us invest so much time, energy, and money into this organization just to be given the middle finger back by them cutting so many corners in the way they do baseball business.

Either Hahn doesn’t have the balls to tell Tony and Jerry it’s a dumb idea to sign BOTH Harrison and Leury or he’s an idiot for thinking it could work. Either way Hahn deserves a lot of this season’s blame along with Tony for not being able to lift this team put from the gutter. There’s just WAY too many players struggling to say it’s solely on the players
-
The expectations were much higher this season though, 2016 at least Rick had a plan going forward. If they fail to make the playoffs, I would lose all hope in Rick to be able to fix this let alone with an owner who would rather an 80 year old drunk be in charge of the team. Again 2016 sucked but the writing was on the wall for Robin, I see no light at the end of the tunnel with Tony. They need a change at manager but Jerry will in no way allow it.

Most likely, it really feels like there’s a black cloud over this team and front office and they don’t have the right people in place to help get them out from under it
