  1. This was about as terrible a start possible for this team as you could ask for. Mainly because Abreu, TA, Robert, Grandal, and Vaughn all should be able to carry this lineup and none have been capable of doing it. Harrison and Leury have been wastes of $$ and roster spots. I don’t expect Yoan being here to turn their fortunes around because this team will only go as far as TA and Robert will take them. And I’m really sad to say it but I wouldn’t be surprised if Rick Hahn gives Eloy the Nick Madrigal treatment at the deadline if they’re still in it at that time, hell even if they’re not.
  2. Even if this was actually a possibility, I don’t trust Rick Hahn or the major league scouting department to get the right pieces here
  3. They really need Sheets bat though, I know he’s not some superstar hitter but the power potential from the left side is very useful for this team
  4. Losing Colson would hurt but not nearly as bad as Rick Hahn not doing everything he possibly can to win a World Series during this window. Think they really need a guy who can throw strikes consistently and Montas does that and his stuff is good on top of that
  5. Hopefully the Sox keep loading up on high schoolers in the upcoming draft and sign younger talent during IFA.
  6. This was my exact same thought, Rick Hahn loves making the same mistakes over again though so add this to the list of things that won’t work out.
  7. Think that their thoughts on the fan base won’t ever change until Jerry is no longer the owner and Hahn/KW are gone. Rick Hahn is still the same dude who publicly called out fans for calling the organization out for their lack of spending. He doesn’t seem to take criticisms from fans.
  8. I still have trouble wrapping my head around how we’re all clamoring for a guy just because he plays RF and bats lefty but is still coming off a 0.8 WAR season to be the answer. Maybe it was both him and Boras who messed this up but his market has been so quiet that it has me thinking that most teams feel he’s just not going to be as productive as his 2017-2019 stats. I just have a bad feeling that when/if he does sign here for however much $$ we’re going to end up being disappointed in what he brings to the team, I hope I’m wrong of course
  9. I really wish the White Sox had some more out of the box thinkers in their front office. Like how did the Red Sox come to the conclusion that they would make Trevor Story work at 2B? I’m sure lack of a market didn’t help Story and having an owner willing to go above and beyond helps but nothing this FO does has shown they can be creative.
  10. Kyrie Tucker, Alvarez, Bregman, and Altuve might be better hitters than anybody on the Sox…
  11. Good keep Hahn and Jerry on their toes instead of piddle dicking around
  12. Thinking Charlie Blackmon he’s a FA after next season
  13. Can’t wait to see his tone/reaction when they trade for a RH Wil Myers
  14. Conforto is not worth $100 mil contract especially after last year. It’s too damn risky, Castellanos though I’d do it. Sucks that Hahn and Jerry seem to want nothing to do with him though for whatever reason. But seeing what he did with the Cubs in 19 and then last year too he’s the guy. Let Engel be the 8th-9th inning defender
  15. You guys really wouldn’t trade Sheets and Crochet for Montas?
  16. Austin Meadows Wil Myers Teoscar Hernandez Mitch Haniger Cody Bellinger Brandon Nimmo AJ Pollack Andrew Benintendi
  17. Same FO who blew their budget on a closer (who is good but wasn’t THE big need) and a bum ass Adam Eaton last offseason
  18. I mean if we’re really looking at how he’s allocated resources it definitely is a Hahn issue
  19. It’s gotta be after he passes or if Hahn leaves on his own. Michael Reinsdorf probably wants nothing to do with the Sox
  20. I think they’re putting way too much stock into believing the offense will just figure itself out.
  21. Id be very okay with a Bryan Reynolds for Andrew Vaughn + package I’d hope Hahn and the Pirates felt the same way
  22. Have the Sox given us reason to think otherwise
  23. Is anyone else concerned about Conforto, coming off a bad year offensively, being THE move to help fix a streaky offense? I’d much rather they sign Schwarber to DH, Engel in RF and use Vaughn/Sheets/Burger in a package for a 2B or SP. Other than being a lefty bat what does Conforto bring to the lineup?
  24. Let’s face it the Sox are bargain bin hunters at the positions where it’s not smart to bargain shop. Their biggest contracts have been given out to a Catcher and Closer. They’re never playing with the big boys unless it’s on their terms which is just a waste of time for everyone involved.. This team won’t land a big fish until Jerry is gone it’s just the way it is and super f**king frustrating especially when this unproven lineup needed a big addition. And I like Conforto I just don’t think he does much for you TBH
  25. This is part of the reason why I was hoping the Tigers signed Correa, the Sox seem to only care about what’s happening in their division and lack of urgency is because their division sucks and because they aren’t trying to overpay in the second hand store. But in regards to the Tigers I know it sounds dumb but would have maybe forced the Sox to look for a bigger upgrade than let’s say Conforto if DET signed Correa
