  1. The Sox need another SP preferably a 2 or 3 and they need another bopper in their lineup not named Andrew Vaughn it’s simple as that. They can’t rely on Cease, Reynaldo, or Kopech early on especially if it’s 100+ games and no expanded playoffs, every game matters. The offense is great against the garbage in the ALC and NLC but what about when they get to the playoffs? If again all it costs is money Ozuna/Cruz/Springer/Bauer should be on this team, it’s completely unacceptable that Adam Eaton was the major upgrade on offense when so many other bats were and are still available. If they don’t come away with Ozuna/Cruz/Bauer or a trade for a bat I once again consider this offseason a failure because as currently constructed they are not the team to beat in the World Series let alone the AL there’s way too much volatility here
  2. Why take the risk then when again ALL IT COSTS IS MONEY to sign Bauer/Ozuna/Springer it still allows the young kids to develop
  3. Why not shoot for the best when they have the money to spend
  4. Nobody but need so much to go right this year to really win a World Series, rather than leave it to chance why not spend that extra $20 mil to assure yourself that this is a team to beat
  5. This did they really improve that much or are they just banking on their young core to take a giant leap?
  6. Jerry’s shareholders must’ve gotten f**ked by the whole GME thing, only logical explanation right
  7. This should be their thinking they won’t do it unfortunately
  8. If Vaughn is gonna be on the table in any trade sign Ozuna
  9. What if the Twins are thinking Ozuna can slot him into LF or at DH
  10. Hope you’re right but just don’t see how spending only money to get a player like Springer/Ozuna/Bauer with this core wouldn’t allow them to still develop and step on the gas pedal. Wish there was a little more aggressiveness from ownership and Hahn to really get the best of every season
  11. That’s my point though do they have time with Abreu’s age, Lynn on a 1 year deal, Grandal and Kuechel only getting older, Moncada’s uncertainty to wait and find out if they don’t have the guys like that? Just wish that if they weren’t gonna offer up their big 3 prospects then they would have at least spent money on a Bauer/Ozuna/Springer to assure that you have a dude to help put you over the top.
  12. They’re walking such a fine line if they don’t trade them then cuz in order to capitalize on Abreu’s, Lynn’s, Kuechel’s, Grandal’s best years and whatever else Eaton has left this year - they need Madrigal, Vaughn, Kopech, and Crochett to be the perfect remaining puzzle pieces, that’s a lot to ask of unproven players. Fair to say that everything has to go right for every team to win a World Series but I just don’t feel like they have their Betts/Sale/Verlander/Soto/Rendon/Bellinger to put them over the top yet.
  13. Have to admit that one hurt my feelings I feel like I now have to choose
  14. Haha not one bit I guess it’s wrong of us to want more
  15. You know what this guy is right, let’s all cancel our SoxTalk accounts and forget the time and money spent on this team, who cares if they get better or not, Go Sox!
  16. It’s underwhelming when they could have and should have done a lot more to really accelerate this thing especially if all it costs is money.
  17. What a bag... and that comment is meant for Stoney and every FO member who won’t push Jerry to the limit to spend.. Literally same thing every year with this organization, there are players that are right there to help you improve the team’s chances of winning yet they want absolutely no part of them unless they fall into their lap. Cant wait for the chairman to just leave us alone
  18. Lol this organization really is something else...
  19. You got intel on whoever the foodies are talking about @Y2Jimmy0
  20. It’s definitely Shark
  21. Preferably Ozuna but Jerry wouldn’t dare
  22. Really wish I was a fly on the wall in the convos Rick Hahn is having with Jerry Reinsdorf about the budget. Hahn should be in Jerry’s ear all day about how he needs to step up for Marcell Ozuna or Nelson Cruz feel like leaving DH for Tommy La Stella/some lesser bat really is gonna come back to haunt the Sox especially cuz Vaughn needs time in the minors
  23. For me Springer/Ozuna allows Abreu/Moncada/Eloy/Robert to hit a speed bump and you not falter too much or signing Bauer allows Lynn/Kuechel/Cease/Kopech the same thing. This goes for every team in the league but so much has to go right for the Sox this year and it very well can but me personally I think they need one more BIG addition to really lock down the AL
  24. I think because each of the above players I mentioned are so important and the lack of depth is so bare that yes any of the above would be a major roadblock. That’s why for me it was to load up on another elite position player/pitcher to solidify this thing and make up for the possibility of a setback.
  25. No, if any of the above play out they’re not prepared
