Conforto is not worth $100 mil contract especially after last year. It’s too damn risky, Castellanos though I’d do it. Sucks that Hahn and Jerry seem to want nothing to do with him though for whatever reason. But seeing what he did with the Cubs in 19 and then last year too he’s the guy. Let Engel be the 8th-9th inning defender

I think they’re putting way too much stock into believing the offense will just figure itself out.

Id be very okay with a Bryan Reynolds for Andrew Vaughn + package I’d hope Hahn and the Pirates felt the same way

Is anyone else concerned about Conforto, coming off a bad year offensively, being THE move to help fix a streaky offense? I’d much rather they sign Schwarber to DH, Engel in RF and use Vaughn/Sheets/Burger in a package for a 2B or SP. Other than being a lefty bat what does Conforto bring to the lineup?

Let’s face it the Sox are bargain bin hunters at the positions where it’s not smart to bargain shop. Their biggest contracts have been given out to a Catcher and Closer. They’re never playing with the big boys unless it’s on their terms which is just a waste of time for everyone involved.. This team won’t land a big fish until Jerry is gone it’s just the way it is and super f**king frustrating especially when this unproven lineup needed a big addition. And I like Conforto I just don’t think he does much for you TBH

This is part of the reason why I was hoping the Tigers signed Correa, the Sox seem to only care about what’s happening in their division and lack of urgency is because their division sucks and because they aren’t trying to overpay in the second hand store. But in regards to the Tigers I know it sounds dumb but would have maybe forced the Sox to look for a bigger upgrade than let’s say Conforto if DET signed Correa

Conforto is a better defender than Castellanos but it’s not by a huge margin from what Mets fans have said. Give me the dude who hits over the defense in RF.

Jerry is definitely not spending $40 mil per on a 37 year old pitcher.

Sox need to move on from Rodon, his shoulder is probably a mess, them not giving him the QO after the year he had is very telling IMO. Stroman won’t come to the Sox unless they give him the most money which they won’t. Thinking it’s gonna be Sonny Gray, Sean Manaea, or Chris Bassit as the most likely bets. They probably prefer Montas-Castillo but don’t want to give up Vaughn which at least for Luis Castillo I’d do it in a heartbeat

Would probably make Crochett available I’d think, then could Vaughn + Crochett headline a deal for Bryan Reynolds. Maybe then go all in for Scherzer

1B is a position that can be replaced probably easier than most positions, if Vaughn is the cost for guys like Castillo, Ketel Marte, Bryan Reynolds, Flaherty (not saying he’s available) you do it. Why you’d even think twice about it is beyond me. Vaughn may end up being a valuable hitter but this team is in contention right now and any of the names mentioned above make this team much better than what Vaughn can contribute right now.

Bryan Reynolds would be fantastic but would probably require more than what Hahn is realistically willing to give up. OFers within reason I think: Winker and Meadows But they should just sign Marte, Castellanos, or I guess Conforto. I’d rather they go the trade route for a 2B (Ketel Marte would be PERFECT, Cronenworth, Jeff McNeil, Brandon Lowe, Whit Merrifield or if not a 2B then trade for a SP1 (Castillo)

The issue wasn’t only the pitching though it was the offense, outside of 1 inning that series they were struggling to do much of anything. I really believe the team does need a shakeup because as others have mentioned too this team is way too redundant. Get a big bat who can carry an offense when it slumps because it really feels like with the current lineup when 1 guy slumps the whole lineup slumps.

Astros will find a way to keep Correa too, this is pretty frustrating, know it’s super early in the offseason but Sox need to make a big move on offense (not named Conforto) and in the rotation

I hope they get Correa, the Sox need some competition in the division

Think it would cost less, Reds are selling off everything with $$ attached. Thinking younger prospects with more control

Which should 1000% be on the table if they’re not going to spend money on fixing 2B or SP

I’m all for either Marte/Castellanos RF and an Adam Frazier/Ketel Marte/Semien 2B. I know who the owner is but that’s who they should be going after cuz it’s not my money
