Cannot wait for the tweets after Twins sign Ozuna, Rosenthal, and Odorizzi about how we shouldn’t worry because “the Sox have more potential”, “Adam Eaton will turn it around” , “Andrew Vaughn is gonna be great”....
-
In all honesty does anybody really think he’s healthy? Katz can’t fix a dead arm c’mon
-
Yeah you’re just extremely biased
-
This organization, my god
-
Rodon is exactly the dude I’d want if this were 2017 and they were trying to find reclamation projects but not in 2021 when this team is trying to win a World Series, let’s move on from this idea please? You sign Rodon you’re gonna have to sign more depth, it was never an issue of whether he has stuff but whether he can stay healthy or not, re-signing him would accomplish nothing but it’s very WhiteSox

I'm coming around to the Sox starting with the team it has now

Exactly why you sign Ozuna to help lift the offense if it goes cold like it did many times last year especially down the stretch, it was a very streaky lineup, mashed against bottom feeders but struggled against better pitching. If you decide to keep Vaughn then there’s more insurance for Abreu if he slumps or package Vaughn for another SP preferably a Castillo/Woodruff type. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting more impact players for a team that has so much money left to play with but are choosing not to -
Then they won’t get Marquez cuz other teams can offer more
-
We’re all putting way too much faith into Katz guys
-
Then they should do it and sign Ozuna, I understand you wouldn’t wanna forfeit 6 years for 4 years or whatever the logic is against trading Vaughn but the goal is to win and win now, they can’t afford to waste more years of Grandal, Kuechel, Abreu, or Lynn by waiting for Vaughn

The Sox as currently constructed are not good enough to win a World Series. As fans we can’t become content with just accepting they won’t spend any further, we were told otherwise, they are $80 mil under the luxury tax with holes to fill that can be solved in FA. -
Garbage dump pitchers I don't *like* like but like more than garbage

Last year was a good start but they should have kept building off of that we expected Springer/Bauer/Ozuna that caps off a rebuild and says you’re fucking ready to steam roll these chumps who don’t want to go all in. I know it all falls on def ears cuz Jerry doesn’t give a damn about how we feel but he should because this is the most passionate fan base in baseball -

The Sox need another SP preferably a 2 or 3 and they need another bopper in their lineup not named Andrew Vaughn it’s simple as that. They can’t rely on Cease, Reynaldo, or Kopech early on especially if it’s 100+ games and no expanded playoffs, every game matters. The offense is great against the garbage in the ALC and NLC but what about when they get to the playoffs? If again all it costs is money Ozuna/Cruz/Springer/Bauer should be on this team, it’s completely unacceptable that Adam Eaton was the major upgrade on offense when so many other bats were and are still available. If they don’t come away with Ozuna/Cruz/Bauer or a trade for a bat I once again consider this offseason a failure because as currently constructed they are not the team to beat in the World Series let alone the AL there’s way too much volatility here -
Why take the risk then when again ALL IT COSTS IS MONEY to sign Bauer/Ozuna/Springer it still allows the young kids to develop
-
Why not shoot for the best when they have the money to spend
-
Nobody but need so much to go right this year to really win a World Series, rather than leave it to chance why not spend that extra $20 mil to assure yourself that this is a team to beat
-
This did they really improve that much or are they just banking on their young core to take a giant leap?
-
Jerry’s shareholders must’ve gotten f**ked by the whole GME thing, only logical explanation right
-
This should be their thinking they won’t do it unfortunately
-
If Vaughn is gonna be on the table in any trade sign Ozuna
-
What if the Twins are thinking Ozuna can slot him into LF or at DH
-
Hope you’re right but just don’t see how spending only money to get a player like Springer/Ozuna/Bauer with this core wouldn’t allow them to still develop and step on the gas pedal. Wish there was a little more aggressiveness from ownership and Hahn to really get the best of every season
-
That’s my point though do they have time with Abreu’s age, Lynn on a 1 year deal, Grandal and Kuechel only getting older, Moncada’s uncertainty to wait and find out if they don’t have the guys like that? Just wish that if they weren’t gonna offer up their big 3 prospects then they would have at least spent money on a Bauer/Ozuna/Springer to assure that you have a dude to help put you over the top.
-
They’re walking such a fine line if they don’t trade them then cuz in order to capitalize on Abreu’s, Lynn’s, Kuechel’s, Grandal’s best years and whatever else Eaton has left this year - they need Madrigal, Vaughn, Kopech, and Crochett to be the perfect remaining puzzle pieces, that’s a lot to ask of unproven players. Fair to say that everything has to go right for every team to win a World Series but I just don’t feel like they have their Betts/Sale/Verlander/Soto/Rendon/Bellinger to put them over the top yet.
