  1. didnt mind Clark too much, never have liked Kerry, wanted Lieberman to win primary....still voting for Bush
  2. there was a legit reason at the time. I took an American Revolution class last semester and learned a lot about it. It made sense then, but in this day and age, it needs to be fixed a little
  3. Thomas' attitude just keeps getting better this year
  4. yes it probably does. But, for now, that is the way we do it, so it relaly irritates me when people say "bush wasnt really elected" and allude (sp?) to such. True, he didnt win the popular vote, but the popular vote is not how this country eletcs presidents (lol how bad does that sound)
  5. Bush was elected to Apu. I hate that s*** about how "Bush wasnt elected blah blah blah". You know, it's not the best way to elect presidents, but we've used this method of a electoral college since the 1790's. Its the way the country does it. He WON the election by the rules of how this country elects the president.
  6. ya i would much rather we did nothing, sat back, grabbed our ankles, and just waited for the next attack too
  7. well ya, of course. They have Hordi, Hagman, Beaudoin, Mezei, Shvidki and others too. I just mentioned some of their young guys who could become stars. Like Bouwmeester, Weiss and Horton in my opinion will be all stars very very soon
  8. i love this move. So many of Thomas' home runs last year seemed to have been solo shots. Maybe a move like this will give him more ABs with people on base.
  9. well in my opinion it is essential that they remove the instigator penalty. Also, they need to remove the two line pass. It would help the flow of the game imo and reduce the effectiveness of the trap that teams do so much of now. A third thing, which i doubt will happen, is that if they widened the rink a few feet on each side, that too could make a difference. I believe it's wider in international competition but im not positive on that
  10. it does have somewhat of a point, but still not totally, as those comments are a little exaggerated. I could see how some countries might interpret it that way, but on the whole i doubt they would.
  11. i couldnt agree more. Some people are so f***ing stupid
  12. yes, i am so excited about Florida next season. Everyone knows about Luongo but they have so many highly touted prospects that are just gonna keep getting better (Bouwmeester, Weiss, Nedorost, Krajicek, Kolnik, Horton)
  13. Charlotte: Cotts Rauch Sanders Stewart Diaz Pacheco Munoz Ginter Adkins Yofu Baj Rivera Reed Borchard Hankins Reyes Bikowski just off the top of my head
  14. and Amanda Bynes and Mandy Moore
  15. oh hockey is so great in person and playoff hockey is just phenomenal. I love hockey and really hope there isnt a lockout or strike. Also, a big part of it is knowing the rules. The idea is the most simple of any sport, just put the puck in the net. But all the small rules is what probably turns a lot of people off. I'm pretty sure with just about every rule of the game, even penalties and their assessment, but if you dont know than trying to follow a game could get very confusing. I cant wait to till the playoffs, because in my opinion the Stanley Cup Playoffs are second only to the Men's NCAA Tourney

    Buy an Island

wouldnt it be awesome to be wealthy enough to buy an island and make it a country. LOL, that would be funny
  17. well in the 16th century that area became a province in the Ottoman Empire. It was a muslim state. It remained that way until early 20th century. Then, in 1930 thge Jewish population of the area was only about 10% of the whole population. The other 90% was non-Jewish. Before you say it, yes i know the land was originally founded by Jews. But that was literally thousands of years ago. All i was saying is that there is a reason the Jews are hated in that region so much. And the reason is because the present day Jewish state was created in a predominantly Muslim region that had been so for several hundreds of years. I'm not gonna say whether it was right or wrong or whatnot but there is a reason they are so hated, and that is it. How is Apu wrong about everything he said? Look at you for example. You quoted a radical zionist who is borderline racist in his own mind. He's made legitimate arguments, sometimnes you argue them, but often you just respond by calling him a nazi. How is that any way to debate anything? You are also using the extremely false presumption that anyone who disagrees with you is anti-israel, or racist, or anti-semitic or whatever. Just because someone may not agree does not mean that. Israelis are not little innocent children here, they commited many crimes of their own. Granted, the Palestinians have started many of these conflicts, but by no means is Israel totally innocent. no one is perfect, neither are they
  18. i had Gonzaga going to the championship against UCONN and losing so that hurts. I also had Stanford getting to the Elite Eight. Well, 3 of my final four picks are still around (UCONN, Duke, Wake)
  19. they've been in a state of self-defense because they were created with the help of Britain in an area that had been occupied by other people for hundreds of years. They intruded into another people's land and that is why they are so hated in that region. Second of all, you are one of the most narrow-minded people i've ever encountered. If anyone objects to your opinion or thoughts you call them racists, anti-Israelites, idiots, morons, nazis etc...I disagree with almost everything Apu says politically, but in this case he's been right on about every point. Not only do you not come up with great responses but you avoid many of the points and questions he makes. If you are going to argue with someone, you had better be willing to respond accordingly and not resort to name calling, as you have done so much of in this thread. Also, you can not be that close minded. Your inability to allow any opinions other than your own into your head is ridiculous. Arguing with you has proven to be absolutley worthless and a waste of time, as you dont allow others the right to their opinions, you just attack anyone that delivers an argument against the ones you are bringing forward.
  20. i'm surprised Dusty removed his head from his ass to actually acknowledge one of his infallible Cubs doing something wrong. I'm even more surprised his quote was included in the article. lol
  21. its because it wasnt about that. Apu how bout you show us some images of the thousands of Iraqis slaughtered by Saddam Hussein? Or that wouldnt help your point now would it? Speaking of WMDs, they have found one, and he is currently in custody. Yes, civilians died because of this war. But how many are not going to die as a result of it because Hussein is no longer in power?
  22. thats weak though. Do you realize that at this time less than a third of males in England had voting rights? Most couldnt even participate in parliament. The Hannoverian Kings still had quite a bit of power. The citizens in England were paying MANY more taxes than were being proposed in the colonies. We were told in school "no taxation without representation" but that is just a small reason we went to war. A lot of it was they felt the taxes levied upon them were too harsh. All my point is, is that history has many sides, and its often not told as it should be.
