  1. the Twins are 5-0 in 9 inning games, 0-3 in 10 inning games
  2. Twins starters pitched 21 innings and allowed zero runs to the Orioles.
  3. Byron Buxton has a 3 HR game. The dude's bat has been on fire this month, along with elite defense.
  4. The way the AL Central is going, the Twins will probably fall out of first, but still hand around until August. That bullpen is as stinky as the Tigers.
  5. The Minnesota Twins are going to be in first place on Memorial Day. That is nuts.
  6. Twins sweep a rain shortened series and the Royals end April 7-16. In fact the Twins have been them all five times this year. The Royals clanged balls off their gloves all weekend and Miguel Sano killed them. The 2017 Royals almost look like the 2016 Twins.
  7. The Twins (of all teams) absolutely torched Rangers pitching this year Houston only 6.5 games back.
  8. The Twins have only 14 wins but have hanged an L on King Felix, Dallas Kuechel, and Corey Kluber's record this year. Its nuts.
  9. The Twins won a game because of this (not quote sure how to embed tweets so here is the link)
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 2, 2016 -> 11:33 PM) Twins crush Keuchel, who isn't getting the borderline calls he was getting last year, so he's walking everybody this year. Astros are screwed. That umpire was awful. In the 5th, Jose Berrios threw a curve right down the middle of the plate and he called it a ball. The catcher got pissed and was tossed out of the game. Berrios threw the same pitch in the same place the next pitch and was called a strike.
  11. The Twins stink right now. But one thing to watch: Joe Mauer is back to being Joe Mauer (.321 /.453 /.440 /.893 slash line coming into todays game). The ball sounds better coming off his batt and even his outs are well struck (just missed a HR today and has had a couple robbed by OFers). Its being two seasons since concussions ended his catching career and its just nice to see his game back to somewhat normal.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) Park just hit an insane blast. Twins looking to win again. I can recall Jim Thome hitting a ball where Park hit that one, but thats about it. Park has legit power. Its been a struggle to make contact.
  13. not even a week into the season and the Twins are already eliminated from the playoffs.
  14. If any reporter has the words "innings eater" is their story obviously did not watch Pelfreys starts. Like this reporter 5 innings max guy. Although, he may fare better in Detroit where their infield defense is a lot better than the Twins. But 2 years $8mil per...yeesh. They probably could have done better.
  15. Jonathan Paplebon seems like a fun teammate.
  16. “It’s hard to field the ball when you have both hands around your throat.” ~ Gary Gaetti and the Twins bullpen implodes Twins lose.
  17. You wanna know how checked out the Tigers are? Eddie Rosario tagged up on a pop fly 3 steps off the infield dirt by second base. The ball might have traveled 100 feet.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 10:31 PM) The Orioles hit two grand slams in the 8th inning against the Royals tonite, only the 8th time in history that has been done Fernando Tatis by himself is one of those times.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 07:03 PM) I think my biggest pet peeve in watching baseball these days is how often the broadcast doesn't show where the infielders/outfielders are lined up for every hitter. With so many shifts being deployed, they really should give the viewer an idea of where the holes are prior to the ball being put in play. agreed.
  20. You got to find video of Miguel Sano's "double" he hit in Tampa. He hit the "B" ring/catwalk what looked like on the rise so instead of a 550 foot home run (and giving the Twins a lead) it was a double (and only tied the game)
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) Miguel Sano looks like a beast to deal with for the Sox for years to come His eye at the plate has been better than advertised (I also think the umps have helped him out with walking him on borderline pitches)
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) Randy Wolf will start for the Tigers tomorrow. He'll be the 15th player from this season that also played in the 1900's. Including the suspended Arod, there were 27 last year. They're dying off. Hawkins done after this year. Nathan done. Tim Hudson done? Torii Hunter done ?
  23. The Twins are sporting a 9 (!!!!!!) man bullpen right now and still used a position player to pitch in last night's blow out. Where is the "tirefire" emoticon?
  24. Not that I expected the Twins to be in the playoffs this year to begin with, but they are in free fall post-All Star break and lost the Wild Card slot.
  25. In the bottom of the 9th inning and his closer struggling, Lloyd McClendon went out of his way to argue a check swing call and was intentionally trying to get tossed from the game and the crew chief just turned his back on him. How is McClendon still a manager?
