I'll bite. I LOVED the Mitchell pick, esp seeing some LSU baseball games. It was easy to love Mitchell's game and just wondering WHAT IF this or WHAT IF that. Yeah he was raw when selected but there was no denying the athleticism. It's easy to get all caught up in that. I hope Mitchell develops into something, I really *sighing* do.

Improvements in total number of hits, doubles, runs, RBI, walks, (less) strikeouts, AVG, OBP, SLG and OPS. Less HR by 4. Surprisingly. So he HAS become a more efficient hitter, developed a better eye at the plate, and getting on base MORE and showing more power overall. Yet...he's still in Charlotte because "we can't make room for him." Total BS.

Not really Southsider, unless someone goes down with an injury. Dylan Olsen, D, might be one of the first callups for that, as well as Shawn Lalonde or Ryan Stanton. On the forwards, you're looking at Ben Smith, Marcus Kruger, possibly Jimmy Hayes if he continues to WOW at prospect/training camp. Mark McNeill...I don't think he'll make the Hawks due to what they have already, but who knows? He may or may not give Kruger a run for his money at one of the C spots.

Just a ton of expectations, Greg...from the All In campaign, to the big Adam Dunn signing, expecting our hitting to come around, our defense to be adequate, and our pitching to be there. Just that our pitching has come through consistently. Not our defense and certainly not our hitting, for the price that JR is paying these guys. Just a ton of FAIL out there.

Yet he continues to hit leadoff. Strange. BA wise, not good for July, only hitting .207, but the power numbers are there. Four extra base hits in 24 ABs.

I like to bump this again and get a consensus of what people think of Terry Doyle and Alejandro De Aza. Both are having some really good weeks lately for AAA Charlotte. Dylan Axelrod too. I know that some of us are discussing it in tonight's 7/7 thread.
