  1. Just getting one has Frank's left foot in the door. 60 more HRs would secure it. Two more seasons Frank!!!
  2. The Rally Crede knows that his work has just yet begun. The Rally Crede knows Championships.
  3. Hellllllllllll Yeahhhhhhh.....from deep in the Heart of Texas, THAT'S A WHITE SOX WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! Seriously guys, I'm crying.....32 years old, and I thought this day would never, never come. I love you all!!!!
  4. ....so ESPN.Com bumps the Sox to a small box, while the biggest news is Swoops "Coming Out" Party???
  5. ...stayed up until the end of the 13th. Whoops. My bad.
  6. The Rally Crede doesn't give a roody-toot-toot if the roof's open or not.
  7. OK, going off my gut feeling here. I think Tad will come around in Houston, especially in the warmer weather. I think he will do very, very well against Oswalt tomorrow.
  8. Oswalt's stuff is as the same as John Lackey's. Remember how the media was trumpeting how much trouble the Sox will have to hit his "94 mph" stuff??? Also, I don't buy into ESPN's Baseball Tonight's garbage that the Sox can't hit the fastball. What the heck have they been watching all year long? Garland will have to do another Game 3 performance just like he did in Anaheim. And Roy Oswalt will have to have a so-so game in order for the Sox to win. The stadium will be rocking and rolling, so it will be fun to see what happens in the next two games.
  9. I can't believe that Joe Crede isn't mentioned in the same breath as Alex Rodriguez. What does a guy have to do to get some respect? Get three more tough grounders like he did in Game 1? Forget A-Rod. My vote is on Crede. Also, I don't think AJ is going to get it due to his CS percentage...wait a sec, is that factored in as well?
  10. Okay, since I live deep in the heart of Texas...where are the Astros boards?
  11. Wonder how much he will command off season now?
  12. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) They were all in the same game at the end of last week, IIRC... Look at the # of errors he had during the regular season... He had just 12 errors in 119 games at SS. Considering the field conditions in A ball and his range, that's better than 90% of the SS's in MLB today. He's a major league gold glove caliber SS. One bad game certainly doesn't change that. Randar, isn't the field in AZ worse than most of the minor league fields? I thought I remember seeing something about that on the other WS board.
  13. The wish to see Willie play on turf may happen....in the WS. If speed does come into play, besides Pablo Ozuna on the bench, Willie would be a good option to go to.
  14. Hell, kill the Tribe, Sox!!! Get them out of the Playoff Picture!!!
  15. FINALLY, THE CHAMPS ARE BACK, ON THE SOUTH SIDE!!! I miss being on the South Side for moments like these. Shiner Bocks for everybody!!! And Mario's Italian Lemonades too from Taylor Street that I miss!!!
  16. Congrats Joe!!! Glad to hear that Ms. Crede is doing OK, as well as baby Lucy.
  17. The same can be said of those Indians fans who notice how many WS players we have on that list too.
  18. Excellent news. Can't wait to hear about the AA Sox stars, plus those in AAA that are remaining, if any.......

    Hurricane Rita.

Lines of people waiting for gas in Luling over last week. Starting around Wed 9/21, no bread, water, or ICE CREAM WHICH CAUSED SOME PEOPLE TO START FIGHTING at the local HEB. Talk about knowing your priorities, eh? My wife who works at the Buc-ee's travel stop on I-10 (mile marker #632) said that they were out of regular and plus within 8 hours on Wednesday. Mind you, this is a 32-bay gas station. All they had was premium and diesel. Plus, some people who were tired and weary from the travels stayed overnight in the parking lot, with some people taking their pillows, blankets or whatever they could find, to sleep outside on the parking lot. Gas prices went from $2.69 premium on Tuesday 9/20 to now an average of $2.85 premium today. Talk about unreal. Plus there was bumper to bumper traffic in Seguin on I-10 when I was traveling to work Thursday morning. Decided to take the FM backroads which got me home faster.
  20. OK, my turn.... 1) I've been back and forth on this, but........resign Paul Konerko. Which painfully gets me to my 2nd point: 2) "Frank Thomas....your Hall of Fame table is ready, sir..." 3) Trade Orlando Hernandez for what you can for to another contender, maybe Boston. Get what you can for him, since Brandon McCarthy is cementing himself as the #5 for next year. 4) Extend/resign the contracts of Garland and Contreras for one more year. 5) See what you can get for Juan Uribe...maybe some LHP relief help or to upgrade our bench; then sign Rafael Furcal as a FA. Uribe can garner a mid-level prospect or a bench/role player. Or Uribe can be a good player to have to help garner a blockbuster trade. 6) See what you can get for Adam Dunn. You need another thumper in the lineup, plus some balance in the lineup as well. Adam should be your starting 1b next year if you can get him. So, my lineup with the little tweaks: ss Furcal LF Podsednik 2b Iguchi DH Konerko RF Dye 1b Dunn CF Rowand c Pierzynski 3b Crede c Widger IF/OF Gload IF/OF Harris OF Borchard RHP Garcia LHP Buerhle RHP Garland RHP Contreras RHP McCarthy LHP Cotts RHP Vizcaino LHP Marte RHP Jenks RHP Politte RHP Hermanson People to fight out the last two spots, unless we can upgrade for position players: IF/OF Blum, OF Perez Pitchers to battle for bullpen spots: LHP Munoz, RHP Bajeneru What do you think? It's two minor tweaks that IMO can get us some more runs, without sacrifing our defense too much.
  21. Guys, has anyone mentioned that the Tribe has played above .750 baseball since the All Star Break, while the Sox has been playing below .500 since the Break?

    Hurricane Rita.

Well, I'm not taking any chances. Ruth (my wife) and I are going by the old horse barn to secure everything as possible when I get out of work today. We live in Luling, TX, some 60 miles east of San Antonio, right off of I-10; roughly about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Port Aransas (next to Corpus Christi). So, if we have to leave, we will. With a C4 hurricane, we're not going to take any chances. Texsox, how are you holding up right now? And anyone else near the Texas Gulf Coast???
