And there is nothing there that is going to convince me that they're being truthful at all. But I've said my bit.

We'll never know for certain. In these cases I consider Ocamm's Razor. The simplest answer is they reported the truth. People do get strep. I would be surprised but not shocked if it was Covid.

That's basically it, Tex. They had a bunch of guys brought in on one year deals, so it made sense and was probably always the plan to trade those guys. I think Stan did a pretty decent job acquiring a decent collection of additional draft picks, and a few younger lottery tickets. Very good chance none of the guys in the "incoming" category in the above tweet ever amount to anything.....but the Hawks also didn't have any players that would fetch a huge return.

Stan doing nothing at the deadline would have been a huge mistake.

Thanks. From a distance it seems like the franchise is solidly run.

  3. I was leaving school yesterday and realized my assistant coach would need some gift cards from me. I was halfway between my classroom and the outside door when I realized I forgot a mask. Weirdest, most uncomfortable feeling, like I forgot to put on pants. Of course someone saw me before I could put one on in my classroom.

I'm leaving the site for a while, so I don't want anyone to think that I'm dead or anything.

    Idk if I'll ever return.

Happy trails! Best of luck in whatever you're doing next! :gosoxretro:

If he did ask his dad to whack Gabby, it failed as he played for the reminder of the decade, including the historic “Homer in the gloamin’ “ game.

    Yes, definitely remember that goof.

Also remember a fan falling out of the upper deck and dying at Comiskey the first evening I worked at the ballpark as an Andy Frain usher. I didn’t witness it first hand.

Couldn’t find an online news story posted, but it’s listed in the link below (5/16/1986).

I lived on Maplewood for a few years when I was a preschooler.

How does the ump not see that he reached his elbow out?

I'm still salty over Crede getting called back on a hit by pitch because he didn't get out of the way in Oakland back in 05. That one at least seemed legitimate, this one was egregious.

He’s watching the pitch come in.
