May 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) Trade or injury...the hell is going on? There is no trade, has to be some injury. Update: shoulder strain. Edited May 24, 201213 yr by Chicago White Sox
May 24, 201213 yr No roster move has been announced by the White Sox, but unless a relief pitcher was optioned to the minors (which is unlikely), it means Danks will likely be placed on the disabled list.
May 24, 201213 yr Also explains the very quick hook on Saturday night. Hopefully it's nothing serious, as shoulder surgery is much more severe than elbow surgery for pitchers.
May 24, 201213 yr To the DL per the Suntimes Van Schouwen via twitter QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) There is no trade, has to be some injury. Update: shoulder strain.
May 24, 201213 yr Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan Cropped up during cub game. 'nothing serious,' Ventura said. Quintana will fill spot.
May 24, 201213 yr Author He will be going on the DL. Actually, looking forward to seeing Quintana start a couple times.
May 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:25 PM) Trade or injury...the hell is going on? IIRC he has a no trade clause for 2012. Not good news.
May 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) Can't lie - looking forward to seeing Quintana again. Indians sure couldn't hit him the first time around.
May 24, 201213 yr As long as Danks isn't seriously injured (with lasting effects), this isn't the worst thing that could have happened. I'm sure they're using Quintana instead of Axelrod due to the plethora of lefty hitters the Indians have.
May 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (Jake @ May 24, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Anyone think this might have been a longer term thing than the Cubs game? Absolutely, based on his velocity this season. Hopefully they did an MRI and know he's ok structurally.
May 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:47 PM) Absolutely, based on his velocity this season. Hopefully they did an MRI and know he's ok structurally. Me too. I'm guessing this time he didn't recover quite right. An MRI should have already happened, it would take just a couple hours to perform/get read given their resources
May 24, 201213 yr Author Wish they would have moved up Peavy to Friday. Get him on track to start two times the week before the AS Game. Plus, why not use him in the first game of a big series, and the last game in Tampa Bay? Edited May 24, 201213 yr by flavum
May 24, 201213 yr QUOTE (flavum @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) Wish they would have moved up Peavy to Friday. Get him on track to start two times the week before the AS Game. Plus, why not use him in the first game of a big series, and the last game in Tampa Bay? They are probably eager to give him as much rest as possible. I have heard that he's had to cut back on between start work as it is.
May 24, 201213 yr Author QUOTE (Jake @ May 24, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) They are probably eager to give him as much rest as possible. I have heard that he's had to cut back on between start work as it is. I guess, but now he'll have to go to KC for the break instead of getting time off.
