This is an article I found while researching something else about how MLB allowed non-affiliated minor league clubs to participate in the amateur draft. Only 4 teams did in about 25 years. MLBTR does a huge story exploring where the Pirates can turn for a bat, and they don't even include a blurb on Luis Robert. Yellow journalism, I tell ya. Where Can The Pirates Turn For Another Bat? - MLB Trade Rumors Old friend blurb:- This Day In Sox History 1/15...
Luis Alvarado born on this date in 1949. Alvarado was part of the return (along with Mike Andrews) from the Red Sox in 1970 for Luis Aparicio. Luis Alvarado Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com- 2026 International signings thread
Is that more than Marco Paddy's last years?- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite

Wasn't Kevin Pillar a minor league contract with a NRI, and he was already penciled into the 2024 opening day roster?- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Personally... Alexander Canario. Just sayin'.- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
I think they question his make-up since promotion.- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Anything I've read about Shaw since Bregman's signing is that the Cubs see him as a super-utility dude. He's their top prospect. Of course the Cubs would want a s%*#-ton back in trade for him. What do you think the Sox would want for Colson Montgomery?- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Kelenic seems immature, and maybe even a little on the spectrum, or at least inarticulate. Yes, I'm goofing on him for judging the Sox as a team that "knows how to win" when I can't imagine how he knows this, or what that even means. Otherwise, I hope he pulls it together and rakes here. I have no praise for Shaw.- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Nobody has to like each other, but all things being equal, a calm clubhouse is better than a distracted clubhouse. Those late 70s Yankees teams went to the world series 4 years out of 6 and won 2. Makes you wonder what they could have achieved if Billy Martin wasn't a drunk and could manage the personalities better.- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Culture > Talent- White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Maybe there's more to this signing than a body to rotate in the OF during the WBC.- MLBTR Offseason Outlook on White Sox
Matt Thaiss was traded for Dru Baker, purely a depth OF, and Thaiss is a legitimate backup who could start for stretches. Seby Zavala was a throw-in for the Eugenio Suarez trade. If Robert and $10M gets you LuisAngel Acuña and a TJS pitching prospect, maybe Robert, Lee and $9.5M gets you the same package. - Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
