The Cub are right where I've always had them. Of mild interest as Chicago's NL franchise and occasionally entertaining and competent. I have nothing in common with their socially obsessed fan base and pay no attention to them. Right now the team is treading water and Theo plans to leave.

The onus is on Tony to change his ways. He is not beyond redemption. Chicago is not St. Louis and that won't fly here. Jerry grew up watching the other JR. This is what we are left with assuming he is not removed.

MLB now calls the shots under a new agreement controlling the minors. In sum you have contraction, localizing, short season moving to spring camps and Covid leaving a murky mess.
