Appears to be a group of talented catchers, each with plusses and minuses, which is why I can't see using # 11 on Bailey. If Dingler falls to us in Rd 2, would be hard pressed to pass but I think I'd still favor Jimmy's guy, Shuster, if they were both available.

Reasonable chance he will be there. Would love to see Jarvis slide to us here but unlikely. Since lots of buzz re: catchers, maybe Dingler a possibility here ?

If no minor league action this year, and no clear visibility into 2021 and, given the truncated seasons of HS and college players (read where Abel hasn't thrown a game pitch since last season), does anyone have a read on how teams might view the lengthy inactivity in terms of draft risk. Would teams be more inclined to draft college players with longer histories or might they feel the added 'downtime' might benefit some of the younger players...like Abel and/or Howard?

Guessing one of Meyer, Detmers, Abel will be there at 11. Also Howard, a possible underslot candidate at 11. No need to go cather at 11. Several talented receivers will be there at 2-5.

I'm not sure its stupid of the owners. They are being asked to make major financial/cost decisions based upon insufficient information. As badly as I want to see the draft happen in June, if I represented the owners, I would try delay it as long as possible until, hopefully, we have reliable visibility into a possible vaccine, without which, its impossible to predict revenues for 2021 and beyond.

Seems trivial in light of current plight but am hopeful the MLB draft is not delayed. If I had the pick and barring one of Lacy or Hancock sliding to 11, I'd try to sign Howard, ideally below slot, then go pitching, pitching, pitching.

True that. Dodgers can't be happy about Betts trade and stand to lose Pederson, others. Lots of interesting talent will be hitting the market. Will be interesting to see how teams play it.

So if no season, WS say goodbye to Edwin Encarnacion, Kelvin Herrera, Alex Colome, James McCann and possibly Gio Gonzalez. With Gonzalez, Encarnacion and Herrera never logging an inning as a WS and any McCann (and possibly Colome) trade value mitigated. Oh well

Would have to consider Abel if he's there at 11, same with Meyer, otherwise I'd try to underslot Howard. Of course Howard might be gone as well.

Not sure owners will pay full salaries if the season is truncated or otherwise dramatically altered.

Sorry, typo...Abel is 8. He talks about his concerns that Detmers stuff and particularly his looping curveball won't be as effective against pro hitters.

I hope you are right but absent development of vaccine, people will think twice about large gatherings, especially with seats so close together. Its a pessimistic view, but the game we all love might look different and teams might be forced to offset declining revenue by cutting costs, especially teams contractually locked into high payroll expense. Even if a vaccine is developed/approved by year-end, will people return to stadiums anytime soon?

Assuming no change to the underlying economic structure of MLB. That money is part of the expense burden that must be supported by revenue. It is not yet obvious if/when teams will have visibility to future revenue streams but they will no doubt be lower for some period of time.

Hoping Bryce Jarvis slips to WS in 2nd. Arguably top 10 stuff.

To save money beyond this year if the revenue drivers, attendance, media contracts, etc. remain uncertain.

If 2021 season economics still fuzzy by time of draft, is it conceivable that teams way underslot or even forego drafting players unwilling to sign cheaply?

I can see WS dangling a well below slot-value offer to him and keeping powder dry for rounds 2-5.
