  1. Don’t mind Stone but don’t care for Jason. Sox do need something different on the radio. Would love to have AJ or Thome both have done some TV work.
  2. I rather keep Engel, he’s younger and much better defensively. Maybin doesn’t bring enough bat to make much difference offensively.
  3. i agree with most of what was said. Abreu extension: C+ Retained what you had and there wasn’t much better out there. Could face degrading skills and needs to be converted to DH soon. Grandal signing: B+ Very good player and I like what he can bring to the team. However would have preferred to role with Collin and McCann and used his money on pitching. Still was a good move because you got a top 2-4 catcher in the league. Mazara trade: C Has potential especially in our park and addressed a need. Still fairly young. Gave up one of our better OF prospects. Not a terrible trade but is Mazara a impact player or hole filler. That I think is to be determined. Keuchel signing: C+ Addreses a pitching hole , if he was the second pitcher I would have been ecstatic would have preferred RYU and rolled the dice because I think he at the moment has the better stuff. The Sox got good talent just not the best available talent. Gio G signing: B- Good pitcher maybe hold a 4-5 hole down. The Sox could have got someone better but they did fill a hole and it’s better than what they had. EE signing: C+ Brings some depth but also has diminishing skills. Hoping he does not turn into Adam Dunn. He couldn’t hit for anything in the last playoffs. If they rest him every 2nd or 3rd game. I think that would be the smart way of utilizing him. Luis Robert extension: A+ Best move of offseason , especially if you are confident he’s the guy! Cishek signing: B+ Need a bullpen arm and we got a decent one. Was most relieved to get him as everyone decent was just about off the board. Overall: B
  4. I don’t see adding Grandal and Mazara with no pitching the Sox topping much over. 500. Sure there is still time to get a few pitchers and hopefully they open the wallet and get a few guys. Just to get to . 500 is a 17 game swing. They need some pitchers. Who knows what Kopech is going to give us after the injury? Lots of weight on Giolito to deliver a good year. Ryu and Teheran would be two I would like to see most. Without 2 pitchers this team won’t sniff the playoffs. Nova and Kuechel would be the next best two.
  5. This team right now is around a .500 team. The pitching is the big concern with out 2 quality starters , they go nowhere unless they get extremely lucky. What I expect is the Sox to get us a good free agent pitcher, if not two as they have not spent money in 10 years. Pitching win games! When teams win they have pitchers! I don’t care about Machado type players. Get pitchers that keep the ball down and in the yard. What I think will happen Is the Sox will trade for very average players or over the hill players and trade away prospects that will prove to be bad moves. Once the cupboard is bear they will say we couldn’t do anything to bring in anyone good because the system didn’t have the players anyone wants and another 7-8 years of garbage teams. We have fielders but Pitchers both starters and relievers need to be drastically improved or developed.
  6. Talk is cheap and so is Jerry!
  7. These moves they may make are likely trades which will deplete the minor leagues. The Sox just don’t seem like they are serious to win. Maybe they think getting to .500 is acceptable because they have been bad so long. Jerry is probably making good money off the revenue sharing, so why win? I found this : In Major League Baseball, 48% of local revenues are subject to revenue sharing and are distributed equally among all 30 teams, with each team receiving 3.3% of the total sum generated. As a result, in 2018, each team received $118 million from this pot. Teams alsoreceive a share of national revenues, which were estimated to be $91 million per team, also in 2018.
  8. How about Plan snowjob! They ain’t getting anything worth while by the looks of this. Abreu and Grandal were the big pat themselves on the back signing.
  9. Price is Done! He just eats innings for a non contender!
  10. We need two free agent pitchers. A trade of our top prospects Vaughn and Madrigal will turn into another Tatis Jr deal.
  11. I wouldn’t trade Madrigal or Vaughn unless it was a current relatively young all star player. That’s their potential for the future.
  12. I wouldn’t give a well used ball bag for Price.
  13. Get us at least chips and a drink with it.
  14. If being at the table is something we are applauding, it’s really pathetic. That’s like going to Jack Ruby’s ordering a steak , the steak comes and then walking out. When your friends ask you how it’s was you tell them I was there and it looked and smelled really good. Pay the money and eat the steak! Stop being cheap because we are sick of McDonald’s and Cold cut combos
  15. I would follow up with his agent and ask if he has interest in playing for the Sox. If not start shopping especially for Harper. If they think their player for his services is gong away maybe they just sign. It doesn’t hurt to put a press on Harper and then back off.
