  1. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 04:45 AM) My New Favorite Band: Bringing the Heavy + Bringing the Funny + Cute Girl in Glasses as your singer who can SCREAM = Awesomeness... I gotta say, I didn't enjoy anything about that.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 07:47 PM) Dang, cmon Hawks. Now is not the time to sit down! Eh, it's the law of averages. They're going to have a stinker every once in a while. I just want them to break the shutout.
  3. Wow. What a top-shelf shot by Franzen. PPG, 2-0 Wings.
  4. Okay, seeing the replays that hit wasn't entirely clean. Cleary got the elbow up on Kane. That didn't cause the injury, though - Kane's skate stuck in the ice, causing his leg to turn inward in a very ugly way.
  5. Holmstrom does his normal planting in front of Khabi and Datsyuk tucks one into the corner of the net. PPG, 1-0 Wings. Good move to hook someone in your offensive zone, Byfuglien.
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) Now into the locker room. s***. Cleary (sp?) has got a bounty out for him now. It was a clean hit. Kane's leg got caught under him and twisted in a very bad position. A bounty on Cleary would be unfair to him and a cheap move IMO.
  7. Kane got crushed by Cleary and hobbled off the ice very slowly. Hope it's not as bad as it looked.
  8. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) I got this for xmas and I gotta say, Bale's Batman is so unnervingly annoying it was really difficult not to burst out laughing. I said it before when it was out in theaters, but that deep voice he tries to pull off is just so distracting. Anytime he says more than 5 words it sounds like he's running out of breath. It was the one terrible part about this otherwise fantastic movie. Agreed. It came off as goofy to me. I know Wayne has to alter his voice as Batman but he sounded like a cartoon character. (and YES, I realize Batman is a comic book character )
  9. The Wrigley decision was not made with the fans in attendance in mind. Like it or not, Wrigley Field is an iconic location, and more casual fans or non-fans will tune in for a hockey game at Wrigley than they would for a hockey game at USCF or Soldier. That was the main consideration.
  10. Now that 2008 is ending, what were your 5 favorite releases of the past year? Mine: 1 Testament - The Formation of Damnation 2 Motorhead - Motorizer 3 Alice Cooper - Along Came A Spider 4 Death Angel - The Killing Season 5 The Cure - 4:13 Dream A couple songs that I really liked from CDs that didn't make the cut: Oasis - The Shock of the Lightning Metallica - All Nightmare Long
  11. Last place in their division. 3rd worst offense in the NHL. 2-7-1 in their last 10 games. But I'm sure they're not that bad.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Doesn't Kate Winslet get mega nekkid in it? That would keep me awake. Hopefully they have an alarm clock or a siren or something to wake the guys up beforehand.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) The movie was sold out at the time we originally planned to see it, and we ended up going to the next showing. You may want to consider buying the tickets ahead of time. Probably a good idea, yeah. I'm thinking NYE might not be a huge movie night, but ya never know.
  14. QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 08:38 PM) I hope, I have 2 tickets. I thought the big refrigerator truck was to keep the ice frozen if it got above freezing ? The guy who set up the rink doesn't seem concerned. The line I read was him saying "Most of our rinks are 60 degrees or warmer anyway". Apparently the wind is more of a concern than the temperature. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=400243&navid=DL

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 07:41 PM) I was in Chicago this past week, and I saw it downtown. Being a wrestling fan only made the movie better. That's probably where I'm going to end up seeing it. The Mrs. and I might do that as our New Year's Eve date, then get home (hopefully) in time to ring in 2009 with the kid.
  16. NINE! Amazing that no Hawks team had ever done that before. Now take it to the Wings twice and welcome to first place! :headbang
  17. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) Hard to believe 2 years ago I was only paying ticketfast fees and taxes for free tickets for this team. They are now dominant and selling out every game. Such an amazing turn around. Yep, the only highlight of that horrible down period was getting 9th row seats off the glass for $6.78 total cost including the cost of printing the tickets.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 06:20 PM) Mickey Rourke better win the Oscar. I can't think of a single performance this year that even came close. I really hope they expand the release around here. Only having it in two local theatres is a disgrace.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) 3-0 Hawks on the Havlat score. That was beautiful hockey right there. How many games in a row have we made the road crowd boo? In a way, that's got to be even more satisfying than making your home crowd go nuts. To be so dominant that the other team's fans can't stand it? Awesome.
  20. 89 seconds left. 89. Ditka. Now they made it 91 seconds and I don't know who wore 91. D'oh.

  22. How painful would it be if their season is ruined by that stupid penalty after the non-fumble.
