  1. It was always going to be the case that the power outage at the beginning of the season wasn't representative of this roster.
  2. It was louder than shit when it was 8k
  3. I fully expected engel to get ILed but definitely not for an arm
  4. They have a 10 game lead in august. We have the luxury of stepping back and trying to view things from 10,000 feet rather than getting hung up in the day-to-day. Would I prefer they went gangbusters from April 1 to September whenever? Yeah, I just think trying to figure out if this team can win in October based on a handful of games in August is a pointless exercise, because the answer for just about every single team is if they are in the playoffs they can win the world series, but they probably won't.
  5. I kinda figured that was the point of bringing in Deivy Grullon, but he hasn't exactly played a ton in AAA
  6. The two biggest reasons they lost this weekend are Liam Hendriks forgetting how to pitch and Cesar Hernandez forgetting how to play second. Will those two things happen in the playoffs? Maybe? Probably not. Their biggest flaws have been the inability to hit the ball out of the ballpark, and bridging the gap between the starters and Hendriks. Both of those now look like non issues.
  7. It’s like a contest to get out in front of why the didn’t win the World Series, which is always going to be the more likely outcome, even for the Mighty Dodgers.
  8. The white Sox are going to play baseball in October. Their odds of winning given series are more or less a coin flip. They can beat any team in the postseason, and they could just as easily shit the bed. All I know is the game on August 15th isn’t going to tell you what’s going to happen.
  9. The refusal to just sit back and enjoy the ride is astounding.
  10. That team in 2005 that for the most part had never been there before.
  11. 3 of those games happened with half the roster on the DL, and they two they dropped this weekend went down to the final at-bat. I would not look too far into it.
  12. I'm sure the Sox don't want to do it back to back years, and I don't think they're lined up with the NLC next year but Sox Brewers would be ace
  13. This team is not in the position it's in without Rodon. Mercedes was huge for them obviously, but I think they would have ultimately survived.
  14. I don't see them on sale at present, but there was a line outside grandstand when I was walking to the train for work yesterday so I wonder if it was for those.
  15. It's an all time great regular season moment for sure. It would close out a rework of the pirates of the caribbean thing. I'm not a jersey guy at all but I'm going to try and get my hands on a TA throwback
  16. I will die for Tim Anderson.
  17. The contrast between cool dude Liam and frothing at the mouth Hendriks is so funny
  18. Blow up a light bulb though
  19. Another mild annoyance is that Gene Honda is in the building and they had Buck do the intros
  20. Not used to it being this close. Also the pitcher is in the way.
  21. Joe Buck Dynamic count:2
  22. Interested to see how the boys look on a big stage against a quality team
  23. I'm sort of of the belief we need to shift the idea of "prime" years later for pitchers. Most all of them are spending their early twenties getting hurt and a lot of the best guys are in their thirties.
