  1. So are you saying you don't think he's a future major leaguer?
  2. Mercedes might end up hitting enough to DH in the majors some day. The dude rakes
  3. Witt, Vaughn, or Bishop. Anyone else at this point and it’s a major disappointment
  4. If Rutschman and Vaughn are gone and the Sox are committed to grabbing a college bat then they’d have to go Bishop at this point. I’d be disappointed if they went with someone like stott. Hopefully they’ll be picking between Vaughn and Bishop when the time comes
  5. bishop is an extremely interesting player at this point. Only thing working against him right now is his track record. You guys think if he keeps this up, he’ll be considered at 3?
  6. This specific situation is not on Hahn. Neither is Machado if Jerry didn't allow him to guarantee more than that. But everything else Hahn has done as GM, excluding the trade with the cubs, all have been failures. So yeah, this offseason shows how cheap Jerry is, but we knew before how bad Hahn is.
  7. The part that sucks about this is that he is pretty much guaranteed to be there for 13 years. That means if he's a hall of famer, which is likely, it'll be in a Phillies hat. I can't even imagine the joy of knowing a player like that was under contract with the Sox for the rest of his career. Man it must feel good to be a Phillies fan right now
  8. Was just randomly looking at Andrew Vaughns twitter and he and Nick Hostetler follow each other......could be a sign This also led me to check other draft prospects twitters and CJ Abrams follows the White Sox and no other teams...must be a sox fan. This one obviously doesn't mean much but Vaughn following Hosteler probably does mean there has been a connection there
  9. If they don't get Harper, they gotta go all in on Bogaerts next year unless Tim takes a big step forward. The Red Sox probably can't keep all of JD, Bogaerts, Sale, and Porcello so hopefully that allows Bogaerts to hit the market.
  10. There any vids out there of engels swing? is it a lot different than last year?
  11. https://www.barstoolsports.com/chicago/la-dodgers-re-enter-the-ring-in-the-bryce-harper-saga towards the end, WSD says that from what he’s gathered the Sox are operating “pissed off” and in “stealth mode”
  12. I would love Bogaerts next off season. If Tim doesn’t take a step forward, the Sox gotta be in on him. There’s a lot of solid free agents next year so that’ll really be telling as to whether the front office will spend to help the core. They won’t have an excuse of being a year too early anymore. They should be all over guys like Bogaerts, Goldschmidt, marcel ozuna (if he bounces back)
  13. I just don’t get why the Sox aren’t even being used by Boras as leverage if they aren’t in on Bryce. We know they at least made a semi- competitive offer for Manny so you’d think he’d be using the fact they were willing to offer up to 350 potentially as some leverage against the Phillies. Just seems odd
  14. They're one of the teams meeting in Vegas?
  15. My preference right now: 1) Adley 2) Vaughn 3) Riley Greene 4) CJ abrams Also really intrigued by Misner Obviously the dream would be to somehow get Adley but Witt and abrams would likely have to have amazing seasons for that to happen. Regardless, I'm excited about this draft and where the white sox are positioned. Right now, the only prospect rumored to be anywhere near the sox that I'm not excited about would be langeliers but the injury makes it very unlikely anyway. I love everything about Vaughn. I'll definitely be rooting for him to keep going off this season because I'd love him in the Sox lineup in a few years
  16. The Phillies weren't willing to pay 300 mil for Manny either sooooo?
  17. Bryce is definitely getting more money than Manny because he's better at the one thing teams care about more than anything else: making them money.
  18. Yeah, I could somewhat see Bryce saying no from the start which led to them moving on to Manny. Also, if the price is 350+ then I'd be alright with them sitting it out. I don't think it gets higher than 330 though.
  19. I'm surprised the sox havent been mentioned much in terms of circling back to Harper. Even if they weren't interested, don't you think Boras would be using them as a threat to the Phillies? Makes me think the sox are interested but want to keep it out of the media.
  20. The sox probably would have had to opt in to this deal after 3-4 years so thats at least one less year of allstar performance needed to earn that extra money. I don't really believe that he would make more than 200 for 5 years either. Also, with the swell opt, he would still have an opt out if the sox don't opt into the swell part so it really isn't as bad as you're making it seem. I agree that the guaranteed money talks, and probably makes him feel more comfortable. But if the player wants to bet on himself, i think the sox deal is better.
  21. I also don't believe he's getting 5 for 200 when he's 31. So it's not like the player opt out at 5 years is better no matter what.
  22. At this point, we just gotta hope Eloy, Moncada, and Robert turn into 5+ WAR players, and cease/kopech turn into 5+ WAR pitchers. This is the only way the sox will become WS contenders.
  23. When the bryce talks start to heat up, do you guys think it'll be positive news if the sox are said to have pivoted to him? Or do you think that signals they're being used?
  24. Yeah, realistically, they'd have to guarantee 300.
