How bad is Alex Rios on the suck-o-meter?
Chisoxrd5 replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He should've been pulled after the first inning today, it was clear he had no interest in playing today. But Ozzie didn't, so we were all lucky enough to see him in the third inning turning a single into a triple on an ole' attempt at fielding. What an embarrassment he is. I have grilled Juan Pierre in the past, but at least the dude tries out there. Rios should be ashamed of himself, and Ozzie should be as well, for playing him. -
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 04:16 PM) I think he's just yanking chains - i thought it was funny Chor-tle –verb (used with object) 2. to express with a gleeful chuckle: to chortle one's joy. It was definitely funny.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 04:13 PM) If Ozzie is not there for Ozzie plan holders to watch, the White Sox will either have to refund purchases or face a class action lawsuit. It's obvious "bait and switch" and the courts would come down hard on the organization. I just chortled wildly at this.

Alex Rios, thanks for coming out today. A cue shot to the 2nd baseman on a first swing fastball.

The approach by our hitters is maddening.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:57 PM) You did. Its exactly how Rongey would respond, although I can't really say I can blame him. I'm sure he likes employment. You're probably right and I do feel bad for Rongey as he's in an impossible position. I don't understand why intelligent fans get upset with him though. He plays to a certain subset of the White Sox fanbase and has to deal with a lot of terrible callers. Take what he says with a grain of salt.

I feel bad for Hawk reading off the Indians play by play like this means anything to any of us. The Sox can't beat anyone in their division except for the Indians. We won't be sniffing the division lead if we can't beat the Twins or the Royals.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Blah blah blah it will be. We can't use Jesse Crain at that point in the game and Hector Santiago was overextended the previous game. It's a 162 game season, you can't use Crain/Sale/Thornton/Santos in every game. You have to be able to trust your relievers, so on, so forth. It's kind of ironic that Ozzie valued Brian Bruney "too much" to waste him in the early innings when that will probably end up being the turning point of the game. Forgot about Bruney. Is there a coherent thought in this post? Did you just contradict yourself half way through? Ozzie should have either made the move one batter earlier or just left Gavin in. Right handed hitters bat .298 on Ohman on the season. He would've been better off sticking with Floyd or a batting tee.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) See ya Ozzie. That should be it for him The way he's managing this year there is not one reason to believe he's not looking for the Axe.

LOOGY Fail. Luke Hughes? Who are these guys.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 08:39 PM) Well, there's just no excuse for a guy hitting .164 to beat you. I can't imagine what will happen when we have to face "real" Twins hitters again like Kubel, Span, Delmon Young and a possibly healthy Morneau. Considering we haven't lost to this group of twinkies, I say bring them on. It can't be any worse than losing every game we play against them.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) Ramirez had no idea. That was honestly the worst at bat I've seen in months. Well it's tied for the worst AB with whoever else is dumb enough to swing at three consecutive sliders off the plate. It's a special community.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) I hope OG does that. I do love the salad and breadsticks from Olive Garden. The entrees are pretty gross though.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) Rongey doesn't treat every caller like s***. Just because he said the Sox want their money's worth out of Pierre and called someone from ST a moron or whatever doesn't mean he treats EVERY caller like s***. Have you ever listened to a postgame show? The majority of callers are idiots. I give Rongey a lot of credit for actually listening to the nonsense that people say on a day to day basis. It truly is unbelievable how dumb most fans are.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) Which is true. If you win 2/3 every series, you win what, 108 games? The problem is, the White Sox barely ever win a series. Therefore, when they play the Cubs of the league, they need to win all 3 games. From 40,000 feet you can look at a season this way it's fine. You're on a 4 game win streak, playing a terrible Cub team and an even worse pitcher. This is a game you just have to find a way to win if you actually expect to be a relevant team come playoff time. Your team captain, Paul Konerko gets hosed this morning and you sit him to prove a point that Adam Dunn is on your roster and he must play. Ozzie is insufferable, and the effort the Sox have put in today is unacceptable.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) I cant wait to listen to Rongey on the postgame put a ribbon and bow on this turd of an offense. He'll tell you how the White Sox did exactly what they were hoping to do this weekend. Win the series.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Write off this year? You want to see Dunn do this July, August and September as well? And Rios?? This year is over. Even if we make the playoffs due to the weak AL Central, what can you honestly expect out of this team? We can't score runs against Rodrigo Lopez.

87 MPH fastball tailing in. Quentin can't touch it. Unbelievable.
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 02:52 PM) I really thought with Sox getting to .500 they would show some fight and really smoke the Cubs today and start rolling. I'm sorry to hear that.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) I just watch our games. I'm sorry to hear that.

Nevermind, another horses*** pitch by Gavin.
-
If Barney doesn't attempt to steal here, the Cubs really hired a gem in Mike Quade.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) Just put Dunn on the DL and get it over with. Is there anyone other than the people on this message board coming up with this "plan"?

That was far from a "perfect throw" by Quentin Stoney.
