QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 25, 2009 -> 01:23 PM) Sometimes, my jokes just get wasted around here... Happy now?

QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) How? They won in 1997, not 1998. Plus, the Phillies won in 2008. If anything, it's 1997 - 2003 - 2009. Completely Pwned...I have no rebuttal. I'm a moron.
-
Best bargain on that list - Marlins 25 -1. I mean it's all but a guarantee they're going to win this year. 1998 - 2003 - 2008. Year of the Fish.

QUOTE (Soxy @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) I don't know probably entrees around $15-20 sounds right. She's not a big red meat eater, but she really likes poultry. I was thinking the Italian Village, but I haven't been there in ages (and I think it's a ways off). Anyway, she likes Italian/Greek, Thai, Indian, Mexican. Places I've been to with food in that price range around there... Rockit - Actually has really good food, and it has a diverse middle aged business type crowd for dinner Heaven on Seven - Cajun Food Frontera Grill - Authentic Mexican (highly recommend) Theres a ton of great steakhouses but you're going to have a hard time getting out of any of those places for less than $40-50 a person.

Schilling wants Clemens to give up all his awards...

I'm surprised Schilling's bloody sock didn't make the Mitchell report. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) Maybe. But who knows? That's pure conjecture. I did state that it was my opinion, so I'm well aware of it being pure conjecture.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) We also gave up a one year rental starter. While that may be the case, I always hold pitching in higher regard than position players. It's also my opinion that we had a much better shot of resigning JG than we do of resigning Orlando Cabrera.
-
It's funny how there has been very little discussion on this thread after The Cheat's little breakdown clearly shows we gave up a pretty darn reliable starter in Jon Garland for a one year rental Shortstop. Kinda makes me sad

If you honestly have no idea, go with either some sort of jewelry, or a digital photo frame with some of ur favorite pictures already uploaded.

QUOTE(daa84 @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) i love the people who are claiming those checks could have been for anything...they are using excuses like it could have been for pizza or for picking up the dry cleaning...id like to pick someones dry cleaning up for a cool grand It just proves how rampant steroid and HGH use was during that time period. The fact that all of these players would even consider paying with a check as a viable option is either incredibly stupid, or so common that none of them even thought twice about it.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 12:29 AM) Kotex boy probably blew a nut over the cubs signing Fukadome. Its gives him another opportunity to attack his favorite obsession, Reinsdorf. His act is tired, but so is Kenny's. Am I the only one who would rather have Fukodome for 4/48 than Rowand for the same price?
-
The slow painful march to the point where we are sitting out in the Free Agent market with nothing but Aaron Rowand left to sign has finally occurred. I would say I'm surprised but lets be honest, this was obvious. So if the options are 4 yrs/$55 million for Rowand, trading for Juan Pierre or having Owens starting in the outfield can we punt the ball away? We need to cut our losses at this point and just start rebuilding. We're currently the 4th or 5th best team in the AL Central. When you're closer to the bottom of the AL than the top isn't it time to start cutting your losses? All this talk of competing is silly.

I just voted for Uribe, someone help me wash the filth off of my body. Seriously, is death an option?

Official Recruiting Thread II

QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 05:39 PM) Mario Little chooses Kansas over Illinois and KState..........nice Least suprising news of the day...Bill Self beats out Bruce Weber for a recruit. Mario Little didn't want to be stuck behind Jeffrey Jordan next season, so obviously he went to KU. -

BTW...I am currently chilling in the Chat room if anyone would like to discuss the enjoyment of watching White Sox baseball. -

Thanks Westbrook that was the only way we were going to score a run there. -
I still feel gitty just thinking about how great the 2005 WS was and forever will be. To have a World Series happen during my lifetime, especially while I was young and reckless enough to fully enjoy it, definitely rocks. HOWEVER, the fact is the year is 2007. We're now the second worst team in baseball. We have a horrific offense, and a barren farm system. The team looks old and has quit. I have season tickets that I can't get rid of and I find myself wandering the park instead of watching a listless team lose night in and night out. I am on record for saying that if we were to never, ever again win another WS I would be fine with it. Sure, I will be fine. Granted, I never thought a half season after the championship we would turn into a doormat. I just don't see how being content with the trophy and being upset that the team currently is a disaster area correlate. I'm happy we won, but I would like to see a successful product on the field. Also, if the traffic on this board doesn't speak for itself of what kind of disservice this organization has done to itself...Oye

I'm not sure a new hitting coach would help this anemic offense. We're now hitting .244 which is the lowest in the entire major leagues. It's quite the accomplishment to be hitting lower than every National League team since they all carry an automatic out at the bottom of their order. Thank goodness Tampa Bay has one of the worst pitching staffs in modern history with their 5.75 ERA or whatever they have, preventing us from finishing last in both statistical categories.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 26, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) No hard feelings, it's hard to tell a joke when everybody rips the Red Sox here. I have nothing against the Red Sox, I have a lot of issues with their rude and inane fan base that infiltrated our park this weekend.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 26, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) White Sox have a chance at history tomorrow No team in the last 50 years (could be longer, I can't easily search before then) has allowed 10+ runs in 5 consecutive games. And we have Jose Contreras on the hill tomorrow...Should I take the day off work and go to the game to see history?
-
Outscored 46-7 in a four game series....I'm not sure I recall such a travesty during my lifetime. Good to see Andy Gonzalez and Josh Fields produce in their new positions. Its also good to see how well our offense has been clicking with Ozzie's new obsession with the lefty-righty-lefty-righy lineups.

Strained ribcage for Podsednik..how long till Grinderstad goes down with an injury?

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 19, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) Then sign 38 year old loogy's who cant get lefties out. No, you have it all wrong... Thats a late waiver wire move/August move after you're already sweeping the cellar in your division. We're talking spring training!

Mike Myers Signs/ Andy Gonzalez optioned to Charlotte
Chisoxrd5 replied to JenksForPrez45's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This signing makes so little sense I'm not suprised in the least we made it. Picking up 38 year old relievers while you're in the cellar in the division with 45 games to go. We already have two lefties in the bullpen, one of which has sucessfully retired lefties all year, and we pick up this guy. Where is Kenny going with this team?
